Mischa Barton leased an Audi Q3, but hasn’t paid a payment in four months, so naturally, the company that leased the vehicle to her is about to come knockin’ for their ride.
Personally, I used to work for a bank that put leased vehicles out for repo and can say that it’s pretty much the last ditch effort to threaten that for the past due payments. TMZ reports that the actress put a down payment of $2,300 on the vehicle back in March with the agreement to pay $696.29 per month. Now, since she has basically defaulted on her contractual obligation to the pay the lease, they have issued a demand letter for the full cost of the vehicle, which is $40,000.
The former “O.C.” actress has apparently neglected to pay the lease on her Audi Q3 for four months, TMZ reports. She signed the lease agreement back in March and agreed to pay $696.29 a month after putting down an initial payment of $2,300. However, the celebrity news site notes that she only made one payment.
TMZ also notes that according to legal documents, the leasing company demanded Barton return the SUV, but she didn’t. Now, they’re apparently demanding the full payment of $40,000.
Next, they’ll come for the car when she’s out shopping at the grocery store, because that’s how repossession companies work. Perhaps she should turn the Audi in before the paparazzi snap pictures of her catching a taxi at Whole Foods with a bunch of bags? Just a thought.
