E! 2012 Upfront

After a decades-long marriage, of COURSE Kris Jenner is still adjusting to Caitlyn Jenner‘s transition. So naturally, it’s hard for her to call Caitlyn Caitlyn  and I think that’s OKAY. Here’s an interview with Billy Bush where she talks about the difficulty she’s had adjusting:

“Can you call Caitlyn, Caitlyn?” Billy Bush asked Kris in his recent exclusive sit-down with the reality star.

“No,” Kris revealed.

Billy asked if she calls Caitlyn Bruce still.

“I say ‘Jenner,'” Kris explained.

The Kardashian/Jenner matriarch explained to Billy that the headline-making changes in her family have been difficult in some ways.

“It’s hard, you know, it’s really, really hard,” Kris said. “What I have realized in all of this is that everyone handles stuff a different way. No matter what it is, you know. We’re all people. We all have different emotions.”

Despite their hurdles, Kris and Caitlyn – who wed in 1991 and announced their separation in 2013 –are learning to grow close again.

Kris explained that she’s “getting to know her” slowly.

“I just thought she would be a little bit different,” Kris said. “Bruce had a distinct personality and, you know, had definite characteristics. And Caitlyn has some different ones, I feel.”

“Can you ever be great friends with Caitlyn? Girlfriends?” Billy wondered. “Curl up on the couch? Can this happen?”

“I don’t know about curl up on the couch, but she came over for a drink last night,” Kris said of her ex. “And that was nice.”

Kudos to Kris- I think she’s handling all of this very maturely. What do you think of her reaction to her ex’s transformation?
