Uh, I would like to enroll in Ellie Kemper’s high school, PLZ.
While on a panel discussing her hit Netflix show Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, actress Ellie Kemper gushed about her high school drama teacher….WHO WAS JON HAMM.
“He was not ugly,” Schmidt, 35, told reporters of Hamm at the Television Critics Association panel on Tuesday. “He was a wonderful teacher.”
Hamm, 44, had attended Kemper’s high school and returned from college to teach for a year, the actress said. “I was in ninth grade and he taught me the improv section of my theater class, and everyone loved him,” she said.
Years later, they had a high school reunion of sorts when Hamm was cast on Kimmy Schmidt as Rev. Richard Wayne Gary Wayne.
“When they told us that he would be playing the reverend, it was fantastic. But I was a little scared,” Kemper said. “I think there’s still a teacher-student dynamic, and acting with him was a little bit nerve-wracking just because I felt like he was still grading me on some level. But he’s a wonderful man and it was a lot of fun.”
Wow, I love both of these actors so much, but how weird that they had this student/teacher relationship. And who comes back from college to teach for a year in high school? A lot of this makes me confused. Aroused…and confused.
Would you want Jon Hamm as your high school drama teacher?
