Lena Dunham lands the latest cover of Glamour Magazine, and she looks great! It’s not nearly as photoshopped as her recent cover of Vogue, which I find refreshing. She’s proud of her body, why not highlight her natural body, and not make her look like someone she’s not? I think the pictures and styling are great, and it’s one of the better photoshoots I’ve seen of her.
On Woody Allen: ââ¬ÅI find the most recent revelations about his life really challenging. I hated that Mia Farrow had been bullied because the man she was [splitting up with] was the most powerful cultural figure in New York and therefore nobody wanted to look at his behaviour. Iââ¬â¢m grateful to Dylan Farrow for her bravery in speaking out. Iââ¬â¢m disappointed that Woody Allen thought discussing his exââ¬â¢s sexual history and shaming her was an effective strategy in arguing his innocence.ââ¬Â
On her heroes: ââ¬ÅI think I want my heroes to embody values I can agree with in their work and life.ââ¬Â
‘Girls’ helped her love her own body: ââ¬ÅI think I radicalized my relationship to my own body in order to accept it. To make my body a prop in my work gave it a value I didnââ¬â¢t feel it had before. At the Golden Globes I had a little bit of fat bubbling over, but I love how that looks. It looks so bountiful. It reminded me of corset dramas. Theyââ¬â¢ll be a point ââ¬â maybe when Iââ¬â¢m pregnant or when I have kids ââ¬â when I just want to have my body for myself.ââ¬Â
On her boyfriend of two years, Jack Antonoff: ââ¬ÅI remember talking with him on our first date and him being like ââ¬ËGod, all the articles about your nudity on the show are such bullsââ¬âtââ¬â¢. I think women are conditioned to stand by their man and watch them make it to the top, but most men never believe the person they get into a relationship with is going to rise any higher than she was when they met. It takes a very special, evolved person to be able to deal with change within a relationship.ââ¬Â
On her good friend Taylor Swift: ââ¬ÅShe helps me be stronger and make better decisions.ââ¬Â
