I had a funny thought about this whole Matthew McConaughey getting skeletal thing. What if the movie sucks? After what he put his body through, what if the movie is actually no good? Hopefully the movie is great, and the 10 years Matthew McConaughey took off his life is actually worth something (an Oscar perhaps?).

Anyway, Matthew lost a shocking 50 pounds off his 183 pound frame during filming (can you believe he got down to 130 pounds?). According to the actor, he’s already gained 25 pounds back, but he only wants to gain 5 more. Can we put a request in for 25 additional pounds of muscle? Need to get back into shape for ‘Magic Mike 2’!

The actor, 43, who lost nearly 50 pounds from his 183 pound frame, is no longer starving himself to play real-life HIV patient Ron Woodruff. McConaughey stepped out for the New York Film Critics Circle Awards dinner in NYC last night (Jan. 7) — he was honored for his roles in “Magic Mike” and “Bernie” — and revealed that he’s gained almost 25 pounds since shooting ended.

“I have less [physical] leverage, but my mind is way sharper,” the new dad, who welcomed son Livingston with wife Camila Alves almost two weeks ago, told reporters on whether or not he missed his fit physique (via People). “You know, I love to wrestle. It’s a good time to wrestle me now. I was 135 lbs., and now I’m up to 160 lbs, so I’m done with that and on my way back.”

So what’s the first thing he ate?

“A cheeseburger,” he said. “That was it. I got the cheeseburger, and then I sat there for 25 minutes and doozied it up.”

McConaughey’s goal is to weigh in at 165, so he’s just five pounds away!
