Ke$ha never wanted to sing the lyrics to “Die Young”, the singer now claims she was “forced to”

Yesterday it was reported that Ke$ha’s new hit, “Die Young” was being pulled off the airwaves following the massacre in Newtown, Connecticut. No one understands more than Ke$ha, as it’s being revealed today that the singer claims she never wanted to sing the song in the first place (even though she’s listed as one of the writers of the song).
Ke$ha just tweeted, she understands why her song is now inappropriate, adding, “I had my very own issues with “die young” for this reason. I did NOT want to sing those lyrics and I was FORCED TO.”
The lyrics include this: “Let’s make the most of the night like we’re gonna die young. We’re gonna die young. We’re gonna die young.”
A bunch of people lashed out at Ke$ha on Twitter, slamming her for the song in the wake of the tragedy.
Ke$ha is listed as a co-writer of “Die Young,” along with Dr. Luke and others. She does not explain why she was forced to sing those lyrics.
It makes no sense to me people getting upset with Ke$ha over the song. With that said – I think it’s odd that she would come out now and said she was “forced to” sing the song. This is equally puzzling to me.

I agree. No one thought anything was wrong with the song before the shooting. Yes, it should be removed from the radio right now, but that doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with the song. She should have let everything blow over. She can release another single and move on. She makes her self look really bad by coming out and making a big deal out of things.
