Four year old Violet Affleck in a stroller – with a pacifier!

I don’t want to sound judgemental here – but I’m sure most of you will agree… four years old – and still has a pacifier (not to mention, still in a stroller?!) Holy crap Jennifer!

Sometimes when a new baby comes into the family, an older child will regress and want to be treated as a baby.

New baby is actually 9 months old now…so by now, Jennifer should have been able to get rid of the pacifier. A pacifier at 4 is ridiculous, no matter what the reasons are. Does Jennifer want Violet’s teeth to match her ears!? Dang homegirl

Really not so bad. If you have to walk a long distance it is much easier to put them in a stroller than carry them. Four year olds will only walk so far before whining. One of my daughters used a pacifier (only to fall asleep in bed) until five. It does cause problems with their teeth.

I agree on the pacifier issue. That should have been gone a long time ago. Any dentist would agree, very bad for the teeth. The stroller is another issue. Normally, I wouldn’t have a 4 yr old in a stroller. But in their case, it may be a safety issue. The papparazzi are always after them and I am sure it is much easier to make a hasty getaway with her in the stroller. I feel bad for these celebrity kids always having strangers stick cameras in their faces.

Yes, she probably should be rid of the pacifier by now but as long as she’s done with it by the time her permanent teeth come in (around age 6) she’ll be fine – and like the other reader said if there is a lot of walking to be done it is a lot easier on the kid and parent to let them ride. No big deal.

Well… I have an almost four year old daughter and an 11mths old baby boy and even though none of them ever like the pacifier, by experience I will tell you that a three or four year old child tends to act like the new baby, just so that he or she can get the attention the baby is getting, is is their way to express their needs. I\\\’ve never seen Violet with so I think this is just a case of sibling jealousy… and the stroller, if you are going for a long walk the 4yr old can get tired and you don\\\’t want to be carrying a 30-40 pound child on your hip while power walking…

Kids that young come up with the strangest things, just because we see her with a pacifier in this picture doesn’t mean that she does it all the time or every day, maybe she was just pretending to be a baby, like they would pretend to be a princess, or a puppy, etc. don’t be so harsh people!

The stroller isn’t a big deal, I still put my son in the stroller if we’re going for a long walk or run or he’s already wore out and we have to go somewhere. And the pacifier- who knows, maybe it’s a once in a while thing or she saw a baby with one and wanted one and it’s a little phase, kids do that sort of thing, just because there’s a picture of her with it in her mouth doesn’t mean she uses it all the time, and who are we to judge, let her parents deal with it, I’m sure she has a good pediatrician.

My daughter had her pacifier until her 4th birthday. It just wasnt a fight I wanted to have. On her birthday we bought some balloons and tied them to the strings and she let them go. She never asked about it again after that. The thing with the stroller would probably be for safety, or if they were going for a long haul walking trip. Those of us who have kids older than four know the melt downs kids can have when they are tired and dont want to walk anymore, and who can seriously carry a child for 3 or 4 hours while trying to shop.

A new little sibling sharing mom and dad is hard for the oldest, I know from watching my daughter revert to infant like behavior. As for the pacifier and stroller its kind of hard to judge based on one picture. I think it speaks volumes Jennifer is always with her children and is such a hands on mom, these are the things that will have a lasting effect on her child not having a pacifier or riding in a stroller past her fourth birthday.

I have a 5 year old that still has his pacifier. Only at night and he loves it, why take something away that gives him so much comfort. I do agree that we should take it away when his new teeth come in. I am glad to see shes not out party and shes being a good caring mother…..Way to go Jennifer

I don’t think the stroller is a big deal. The binky she probably shouldn’t have, but for all we know she never uses that stroller and it was in there from when she was a baby.
Still love her!

We haven’t seen Violet in the stroller regularly, nor the pacifier, so I agree she’s probably playing at being a baby. I wonder if just out of shot someone is carrying Seraphina, and Violet has hopped into Seraphina’s vacated stroller?

Get her walking and get that dummy out she is too old!

Man! That’s pathetic! That child is not so cute so with ALL the money they make, the least they could do is get that child’s ears fixed so that children don’t make fun of her when she goes to school! Kids are cruel!

Have you tried to walk with a kid and get stuff done?
…I understand the stroller – I don’t understand why she has a paci.
