Johnny Depp is a saint
Johnny Depp thrilled sick children at a London hospital on Wednesday – by dropping in unannounced, dressed as a pirate.
The actor has been in the U.K. capital this week to promote new movie Public Enemies, and took time out from his busy schedule to visit Great Ormond Street Hospital to cheer up young patients.
Dressed as his Pirates Of The Caribbean character Captain Jack Sparrow, he visited several wards – including the one his daughter Lily-Rose stayed in when she was treated for kidney failure in 2007.
A source said, “Johnny was so friendly with all the children on the ward and they absolutely loved his pirate outfit. He spoke to lots of the youngsters and staff – and made their day by posing for pictures with them all.”
The generous star has previously donated $1.5 million to the hospital to thank them for looking after his 10-year-old daughter during her health scare.

Like the story says, this isn’t the first time he’s done this. Last year, a story came out about him flying his captain Jack Sparrow costume first class all the way from Hollywood to London, so he could read bedtime stories to kids with cancer in the hospital that saved his daughter, dressed as Captain Jack. They didn’t ask him to do it; he just did it on his own. He did this without telling anyone, because he’s a genuinely good person & wasn’t looking for publicity.
Hollywood is too full of stuck up, arrogant attention whore assholes like paris hilton, slutney spears & lindsay blowhan; it definitely needs a lot more like him…

I never watched 21 Jump Street, but am a fan of his theatrical work. He’s so versatile and creative. A true artist.
Being the good person he is makes him truly admirable.
He has great looks, a great career, great talent, is a good person – a person couldn’t ask for more in life. But if they could, Johnny would be the one to manifest it.

He’s even more wonderful: On 7/4 there was a blind item reveal that Depp’s also been paying for cancer treatments for a girl fan who asked to meet him 3 yrs ago as a dying wish. She had weeks to live at the time and when Johnny asked about medical treatments, he was told there wasn’t any money. A beautiful man – inside and out!
