Angelina Jolie for President?
Angelina Jolie is thinking of turning her attention to politics with a view to ending up in the White House, it has been revealed.
The actress, a UN goodwill ambassador for the past eight years, has become increasingly focused on humanitarian work and is said to be keen to make the leap into politics.
Her recent 34th birthday has caused her to take stock and Angelina has been telling friends she wants to get even more involved in making a difference in the world.
She is considering following fellow actors Arnold Schwarzenegger into politics and Ronald Reagan into the White House.
Although an admirer of new US President Barack Obama she has never officially come out as a Republican or Democrat.
A friend said: “Ange has admitted she’s getting bored with Hollywood. She said she’s now got her sights set on Washington.
“She is passionate about people’s rights, war and justice and thinks she can get more hands-on and make even more of a difference by getting into politics. She admires Obama and thinks she could make a big difference too if she were in his position.”
Angelina, who just recently dethroned Oprah Winfrey as the world’s most powerful celebrity in a list compiled by Forbes magazine, has six adopted and biological children with partner Brad Pitt.
She has been filming new action movie Salt for the past couple of months but finds herself ever more drawn to the political arena.
She recently wrote an article for Time magazine expressing outrage over the conflict in Darfur and gave an emotional address for World Refugee Day last week.
Her duties as a UN goodwill ambassador have seen her travel the world highlighting the plight of refugees and victims of war and poverty.
The friend continues: “I would place a huge wager on her becoming the first female president in the next 20 years. When Ange sets her mind on something, she goes all out to do it.
“She’s very determined and gets very stirred by her UN work.
“She is well respected for her humanitarian work and I’m sure she would make as many waves if she moved fully into the political world.”

This is the most ridiculous story I have ever heard…she couldn’t begin to know what being president requires..just because she can talk to the media occasionally without sounding like a dumbass, and gives her kids pimped pic money to charity, doesn’t mean she can be a politician.

I don’t know Angelina personally but from the little snippets I see on the news it seems like she is a humanitarian. She could probably go to any poor town in the United States and find many people to help but she chooses to go overseas. Well at least she is helping some people. It’s more than I can say for myself. Its too bad that the above posters actually only know what the tabloids tell them. Do you actually know the good things that this women does and what her money is being spent on? How many lives she has helped out??? President, NO. But she could make a difference.

She has been helping people and organizations since 2001! How many 26 year olds would and have done that. Most of them were out there buying sports cars and crap.
She has visited internally displaced persons and refugees around the world. She used her popularity and aimed at creating awareness of the situation’s impact.
she was more involved with political efforts. She became an active lobbyist for humanitarian efforts and recognized the importance of the political aspect. Every year she attends the World Refugee Day in Washington DC, alongside significant figures in the political arena. She was also invited to speak at the World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland during 2005 and 2006.
Angelina Jolie was instrumental in pushing bills that seek to help vulnerable children and refugees around the world. She also founded an organization entitled National Center for Refugee and Immigrant Children, and provided funding worth $500,000. She also founded the Jolie Pitt Foundation, and contributed significant donations to projects and organizations. She is a co-chair as well at the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict.

All of you can say whatever the hell you want to say. If she runs for president, whether she steals husbands, buys kids from other countries, tongues her brother, eat pussy, whatever the hell she does, she isn’t getting my vote. We’re not talking about a popularity contest here. She can have good intentions with all the stuff she does, but she’s no president material.
And for the record, the only reason why celebrities do the “charity” work they do, is so they can write it off. Nothing more than that.

Maybe that is what you would do, but NOBODY has to visit the places she does, give the time to what she does… IF she wanted to, she could sit at her house and write a big fat check and be done with it.
SOme people on the other hand, actually CAN and DOES make a difference when they feel strongly about something.
Do I think she is president material?? No. After what I read on here, i thought it was just about her getting somewhere into politics, not presidency?? And yes, I think somewhere she has a voice that could make a change. Like i said, for president.. umm NO, but someone who cares deepley for what they do, then yes she could do something political.
You really shouldnt judge someone so harshly unless you actually know that person. 90% of this crap you see and read is for people like you to get off on and feel like you have a life. Unlike people like HER that is actually out there TRYING to make a difference.
