Britney Spears: “The Whole Year Has Been a Hell of a Ride”

In January’s Glamour, Britney Spears opens up about her “crazy year,” her new album Circus and her future.
“The whole year has been a hell of a year for me,” she says, referring to her forced psychiatric hospitalizations, loss of custody of her two sons and infamous head shaving.
Recording her latest album Circus — which drops Tuesday on her 27th birthday — “has helped take my mind off certain things,” she says. “For me, my music is therapy.”
The singer — who made her first live performance Wednesday in Germany since her rocky 2007 MTV Video Music Awards stint — also admits she “didn’t know exactly where I stood with everyone” after the past year.
“When I received the awards and [the audience] stood for me, it showed me how much love is out there,” says Spears, who swept the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards.
Her life is calmer these days, she says.
“I don’t like going out. I hate clubs. I hate being around too many people,” the singer tells Glamour. “I love my home and staying in bed and watching Dancing With the Stars or reading a Danielle Steel novel. I’m kind of boring.”
She’s also been hitting the gym.
On her post-baby body, Spears says, “My body…completely changed [after giving birth], and I have had to work hard at getting it back.”

After last nights special I really feel for her. I am the same age as Britney (turned 27 on 11/11) can’t imagine dealing with the constant scrutiny and controversy she has dealt with. My heart goes out to you Brit. Much love!

wow, no mention of her kids in that new quiet life of hers. I swear she forgets she has them until her father/caretaker reminds her it’s visiting time…

Oh please. I wish she’d just go away forever. I only want to be able to find her by following a trail of cheeto dust.

Feel sorry for her? Fall for it suckers. The special was like a pathetic attempt to pull at your heart-strings…and you saps took it, hook line and sinker.
How about those boys of hers? That is one momma that should be slapped for serial stupidity. There is no excuse for that, no mental issue, nothing. She has children, they should be her concern, not her career.
She wants a life, she HAD one before they got ripped from her!
Stupid ass, I cannot feel sorry for her.

I think that she is amazing, and I am so glad that she is getting it together. So many people go through hard times in life and she has pulled through with such great courage.
