High School Musical inspires retail movie
Disney franchise High School Musical has inspired a U.S retail giant to launch its own musical.
Department store Sears is teaming up with MTV to launch a new movie musical from the executive producers of High School Musical – entitled The American Mall.
The movie is about a group of young adults who work in a mall over the summer. Scenes were shot in a Sears store and characters wear Sears clothing.
The company’s musical was launched on the web earlier this month and will be broadcast on MTV on August 11th.
