Both Rob Lowe and Jessica Gibson had important parts of their cases thrown out in court today — and if you ask their attorneys, they both came out winners.
The judge threw out Jessica’s retaliation claim — she had previously said she was fired after she complained about alleged sexual harassment . But the judge also tossed out four of the Lowe’s claims — the biggest one was their allegation of defamation.
Jessica Gibson’s attorney, Gloria Allred, tells us, “He lost the heart of his case, which is defamation, and we are permitted to proceed with the heart of our case, which was and still is our allegation that Rob Lowe sexually harassed Jessica.”
Lowe’s attorney, Larry Stein, tells TMZ, “I’m delighted with the court’s ruling today. It removed the retaliation claim, which Ms. Allred had been focusing on and left in six claims, which allows us to prosecute every claim we’ve made.”

The bad “karma” keeps rolling for Sharon Stone, as more than 1,000 Chinese earthquake victims and a New York lawyer are demanding a $1 billion pay-out - or maybe just an apology.
The “Basic Instinct” star was recently served with legal papers announcing attorney Ming Hai’s intention to sue her for harming Chinese people when she suggested the catastrophic quake last May was “karma” for the regime’s occupation of Tibet.
“For the families who have lost their loved ones or lost limbs or suffered severe injuries, your . . . statement and act has caused extreme emotional distress,” Ming wrote, citing the controversial comments Stone made at the Cannes Film Festival.
In a public apology last month, Stone, 50, said she “misspoke” and “could not be more regretful for that mistake.”
In April, two women sued CNN for $1 billion - a dollar for every Chinese person - because anchor Jack Cafferty said the country is led by a “bunch of goons and thugs.”

Heather Mills has followed through on her plans to move to New York after closing on a new apartment in the city.
Mills, who won a $50 million divorce settlement from former Beatle Paul McCartney earlier this year, was rumored to be on the hunt for a new pad in the Big Apple and Los Angeles, and has been spotted house-hunting on both coasts.
The former glamour model closed the deal on a full-floor condominium in the city’s celebrity-studded West Village area - after passing an extensive overview with the building’s board members, steered by designer Calvin Klein.
Millls signed the contract in June for the two-bedroom Perry Street pad, reportedly paying just under the $5 million asking price.
The new New Yorker will be living on the very same street where Sarah Jessica Parker’s Sex and the City character Carrie Bradshaw lived in the show.

Mike Myers is working on a new Austin Powers movie as a tribute to his late father.
The comedian was devastated when his dad Eric passed away in 1991 following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
And he is now using the script for the fourth installment of the spy comedy to pay homage to his beloved father - by basing the story on their relationship.
A source tells Deadline Hollywood Daily, “It’s very personal with a father and son theme loosely based on his own life.”

Verne Troyer is suing Ranae Shrider, his former GF and sex tape partner, alleging she battered the hell out of him.
In the lawsuit, which will be filed in Federal court any moment, Troyer is accusing Shrider of intentional infliction of emotional distress and battery.
Verne’s killer lawyer, Ed McPherson, tells TMZ, “When you pick up a 2′8″ human being and throw him to the floor, it hurts.”
Others will be sued as well, including a lawyer who allegedly tried to broker a deal for the sale of the sex tape.
In the lawsuit, Troyer basically says the chick terrorized him, once picked the lock to his bedroom door, pushing away a 100 pound scooter that was used to block the door, and then throwing him to the floor.”
Troyer claims his damages from all that Schrider did to him exceed $20 million.
