Jennifer Aniston plans to rediscover her Greek heritage

Jennifer Aniston is planning to rediscover her Greek heritage with a trip to the country this summer.
The former Friends star was born in California but her father hails from the Greek island of Crete and the family’s real last name is Anastassakis. Aniston is reported to be learning the language ahead of her planned holiday to the country, which is on her list of “Things To Do Before I’m 40″. She insists she is proud of her Greek roots, as her heritage has helped keep her grounded despite her fame.
She says, “There’s a warmth to my family and to Greeks in general. I have friends from childhood who are still in my life today. All this keeps it real.”

hee. Well, it’s refreshing to see a story about her that isn’t about the man she’s with or the bikini she’s wearing or whatever she just bought. But how much Greek can she really learn before summer?

She allows friends to remain in her from her childhood, yet she does not allow her own mother in her life? Also, heard about this trip of her 1 to 2 years ago, are you really going, Jen?

She made up w/ her mom years ago. I read in a magazine that her mom use to put her down a lot and she would tell her that she is ugly and she wouldn’t make in hollywood. That was pretty mean of her mom. Yet, she found it in her heart to forgive her, after all that is her mom.
