Britney facing probation!

Expect the sparks to fly in a Van Nuys courtoom today where Britney Spears faces the possibility of being placed on probation for one year as a result of her hit and run accident last summer. While the hit-and-run charges have been summarily dismissed, the pop wreck, who’s not expected to appear in court today, still faces charges of driving without a valid California driver’s license.
Britney’s lawyer, Michael Flanagan, tells PageSix.com that no settlement has been reached over the case and that he plans to ask for prosecution discovery, which would force the City Attorney’s office to prove that the pop tart was in California for a protracted time without having a valid state driver’s license. An insider reveals that it’s going to be difficult to prove and could lead to a protracted legal battle or the case being dismissed.
Probation would be a disaster for the pop tart as she was reportedly seen speeding at over 100 mph on Mullholland Highway over the weekend. All it would take for her to end up behind bars would be one incident of her running a red light or speeding.
January is going to be a very busy time for Ms. Spears as she is expected to finally be cross-examined by Mark Vincent Kaplan in her ongoing custody battle for Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1. The deposition is scheduled sometime in the next two weeks.

Karen, get your facts straight. Brandy wasn’t responsible for the death of the person in the accident, it turns out.
