Colin just got a new fan… me.

To be honest, I wasn’t a hug Colin fan, but after reading this interview, he has won me over.
People is reporting that Colin Farrell has revealed that his 4-year-old son James suffers from a rare neuro-genetic disorder called Angelman Syndrome – but that he’s a brave and happy child.
“The only time I’m reminded that there is something different about him – that he has some deviation of what is perceived to be normal – is when I see him with other 4-year-olds. Then I go, ‘Oh yeah,’ and it comes back to me,” Farrell tells the Irish Independent. “But from day one I felt that he’s the way he’s meant to be.” and adds that his son is very courageous and “[I'm] incredibly blessed to have him in my life.”
“He took his first steps about six weeks ago, and it was four years in the making,” Farrell says. “It was incredibly emotional. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house.”
I’m sure that was wonderful to see your son walk after 4 years! I got tears in my eyes just reading this story!

Good for Colin for straightening up and flying right! Being the sibling of a Special Needs child, I know how much these kids really need ALL members of their family for TLC and support

Make that two new fans! I love him for being honest.

Make that three fans. I got teary eyed over the story too. How awesome.
Must be the reason he hasn’t been in the tabloids for a very long time.

That’s so awesome. Good for him. My son has mild cerebral palsay and didn’t walk until he was 2 1/2. I know how hard it can be! I have a new respect for him.

I was always a huge Colin fan but htis has made me love him even more. As the mother of a child with spina bifida, I know how hard it is to see that your child is ‘different’. It’s also good to know that even stars have the same issues that us ‘normal’ people do.
