Angelina Jolie has been transformed into the mother of Grendel the monster, the father of all evil from Anglo-Saxon mythology, for the adult fantasy film Beowulf
The actress stars alongside British actors Ray Winston, who plays her evil son, and Sir Anthony Hopkins who plays King Hrothgar.
Winstone has also been given a virtual Hollywood makeover, losing his beer belly, to remake his portly British frame into that of a comic book superhero with the help of skilled digital imaging. Described as “‘Lord of the Rings’ meets ‘300′, the long-awaited adaption of the the oldest story in the English language, “Beowulf” is described by the Los Angeles times as a “hyper violent and highly sexualized tale”.
The warrior Beowulf (Ray Winstone) must slay the monster Grendel (Crispin Glover). Later, Grendel’s mother (Jolie) seduces Beowulf so that she can produce a replacement heir that will allow her to re-establish her dominion over the kingdom.
Winstone has become a fixture in Hollywood since his breakthrough role in Gary Oldman’s Nil By Mouth. And is currently filming the fourth installment of the Indiana Jones series with Harrison Ford.
Die-hard fans of the comic book genre will get a sneak peak at the 3-D digital version of the film at a comic convention, Comic-Con, in San Diego tonight.
Like I said earlier, I’m not a fan of violent movies…but I am having a movie night next Friday - and we’re watching 300. Haven’t seen it yet, and I’m kind of excited to see it. Did you see it? (Okay, I’m probably the only one who didn’t) Did you like it?

300 is the greatest movie of all time lol. If you dont like Greek history, literature, or violence, at least you can fall back on 2 hours of sweaty, gorgeous half-naked men. The cinematography is beyond fantastic and the whole movie is just pure popcorn entertainment. I really hope that you enjoy it!

This is not 300. Oh and lookie here, Jolie is naked (or damn near) AGAIN… Falling back on the tried and true. Sex sells and destroys marriages…yeah, Angie She-Wolf!!!

i really liked “300″ a lot. it’s a beautiful film, really. the way it was shot & the film type used, it’s really quite gorgeous. if you like action, you’ll love the movie
it is a bit bloody, but it is a war movie so it fits! i hope you like the movie! & angelina jolie is gorgeous, i can’t wait to see this movie!

The way 300 was filmed was very cool, but overall it was a bit too overdramatic for me. Oh yeah, and prepare yourself for an unnecessarily lengthly sex scene during which several positions are used…
