ER star Goran Visnjic is acknowledging that he had an extramarital affair and has agreed to take a paternity test to see if he’s the father of the woman’s 4-month-old daughter, the Croatian magazine Story reports.

Visnjic, who plays Dr. Luka Kovac on the NBC medical drama, is being sued by Mirela Rupic, a 36-year-old Croatian woman who claims the actor is the child’s father.

“[The affair] is not something that I’m proud of, of course,” Visnjic told the Croatian women’s magazine, according to the Associated Press. “But I am ready to accept all the consequences of my act.”

Visnjic, 34, has been married to Ivana Vrdoljak (pictured above) since 1999, and the couple adopted a son named Tin this spring.

Visnjic tells the magazine he “remembers nothing” from his night with Rupic because he was jet lagged and had consumed alcohol. He says the encounter happened while he was alone on vacation last summer.

“I was always against cheating,” he is quoted as saying. “I still can’t believe I did it.”

Visnjic says if the paternity test reveals that the child is indeed his, he will pay child support but will not seek custody of the baby.

According to the AP, the magazine did not say how and when it interviewed Visnjic. Reps for the actor did not return repeated calls or e-mails asking for comment.
