Emerging from post-nuptials bliss and post-Harvard-degree glee, Rivers Cuomo – - the bespectacled frontman of sweater-clad pop-rock icons Weezer – - has revealed his band will release a new album early next year. “Weezer is just polishing up a batch of songs for a recording session that is going to start at the beginning of July,” Cuomo wrote in a post on Weezer’s website. “This will be the final recording session for our 6th album, which we aim to put out in the first half of 2008.”

I know I’m really old and all – but I still think this is cool news.
