Troubled pop star Britney Spears has hinted at her dislike of heiress Paris Hilton.

Spears, who was recently spotted out shopping in LA after a brief trip to Mexico, did not single out Hilton by name, however, she does refer to unhealthy friendships she acquired after her split from Kevin Federline.

In a message on her site, Spears wrote: “Being in that vulnerable state and taken to dinners and parties with friends and finding out later you paid for everything was a huge learning lesson for me.

“You never know another persons intentions or what another person wants. I feel I was too open and looking for answers when I had it all to begin with.”

Spears and Hilton, who is currently serving a jail term for a driving violation, were often seen out partying right after the pop star’s break up.

After just a few weeks of wild partying together their friendship quickly cooled, and they have not been seen together since.

Spears later endured a very public meltdown, in which she shaved her head before eventually checking into rehab.

Spears added: “I think the whole problem was letting too many people into my life. I have had to cut so many people out of my life.”
