“She’s kind. She doesn’t need any help from me. She’s inspired me to do so much as well,” Gosling, 26, said Sunday when asked about McAdams’s comments at a junket for his new thriller Fracture.

McAdams, 30, told the magazine’s April issue that her beau – and costar in 2004’s The Notebook – “never does the same thing twice. He’s very brave.”

But Gosling, a Best Actor Oscar nominee for Half Nelson, says McAdams has good judgment in her own right: “She’s the most discerning person I’ve ever met. She’ll read a script 100 times. She’s relentless.”

And she’s not bad looking, either: Asked to comment on McAdams’s cover shot for the magazine, Gosling was momentarily tongue-tied.

“Oh … yeah …” he said. “She looks stunning! Absolutely – yeah!”

Rachel McAdams is dating Josh Lucas.

The ‘Wedding Crashers’ actress has moved on from former beau Ryan Gosling – with who she had a lengthy on-off relationship after they fell in love on the set of 2004 movie ‘The Notebook’ – and into the arms of notorious ladies’ man Josh.

The new couple were spotted canoodling at the Purple Ball, which was held to celebrate US President Barack Obama’s inauguration, and left onlookers in no doubt they are an item.

A source told the New York Daily News newspaper: “They were so lovey-dovey. They were nibbling on each other’s necks, gazing into each other’s eyes and doing a lot of flirty touching.”

Josh, 37, has previously dated Salma Hayek, Heather Graham and Anne Hathaway.

Rachel, 30, and Ryan, 28, split last April after dating for two years, but found it difficult to go their separate ways.

The sparked rumours they had rekindled their romance in July when they were seen getting close at Ryan’s debut DJ set in Los Angeles.

In August, they were said to be “definitely together again” and even went on holiday to Toronto together.

However, in December it was announced they had decided to be friends rather than lovers.

I am real worried about the upcoming election. When I think about the trouble that is occuring in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Middle East (not to mention the economy) we really should be looking for a experienced leader. I’m far from convinced that President Obama or any of the Republican candidates so far have the experience or skills it takes to get the job done the way it has to be accomplished. Being president of the U.S. is an exceptionally difficult job. Do you think there is someone out there with the experience, skill, and moral conviction to do the job?
