Allegra Versace Forced into Hospitalization at 70lbs
Fashion queen Donatella Versace is in the depths of despair as her only daughter clings to life in her battle against anorexia.
Weighing a shocking 32kg [70 lbs], Allegra Beck Versace has been forced to undergo treatment in a medical and psychiatric facility. Insiders say the 20-year-old’s condition is so dire she’s under 24-hour supervision and must be fed through a naso-gastric tube.
A Versace family employee witnessed Allegra’s deterioration. “It was the most sad and traumatic experience of my life,” he said. “Her arms are like candlesticks. Her skin is this unnatural colour I’ve never seen before.”

Poor Allegra, I can’t imagine how it’s difficult to be anorexic, and I guess it’s much more difficult to try to battle against.

Maybe Donatella will start designing for the average size woman. Young ladies today have such distorted body images because all the models are candlestick thin – below the healthy weight of the average woman.

Lola: i just want to say, i am sure that some of her mothers work has a negative effect on her body image, but that is not the sole driving force of many people with eating disorders.

I saw a picture of this poor girl TWO YEARS ago and she was excruciatingly thin then (I couldn’t figure out how she was able to stand up and walk on those tiny skeletal legs). Why did they wait til now to get her help? Now she’s “fighting for her life” when her mother should have intervened a lot earlier. I don’t know how she survived these last couple of years at that low weight.
