Confirmed: Kirsten Dunst to play Deborah Harry in an upcoming movie based on her life.
“She chose me. So anyone who disputes that choice can take it up with her.” Kirsten Dunst was hand-picked by Blondie rocker Deborah Harry to play her on the big screen.

i can’t see scarjo having the glam/punk/rock attitude. she’s an ok actress with little to no charisma.
kiki might not be the greatest beauty but i think she can pull off this role.

There is no way Kirsten can pull off the raw sexuality that Debbie Harry had back in the day. I was 8 years old when I first saw Blonde sing Heart of Glass and I thought, holy shit, this women is sexy! Every time I think of Kirsten I think about using her as a punching bag. Bad choice.

This is the most horrible thing I’ve ever heard. Dunst hasn’t been a good actress since “Interview with the Vampire”. Since then she’s been about as good an actress as Rose McGowan. She sucks!

The actresses you mentined are too soft and too conventinally pretty for Debbie Harry. Although they could have gotten somebody edgier. I kinda see that the both have the same face shape. Hopefully Kirsten won’t overract or underact for this role.

If Debbie picked her its because she believes Kirsten has something that is similar to herself. Only Debbien knows. Kirsten is a good actress and has been since she was a child, so good for her!

Hmmm, unlike everyone else, I think that Kirsten will be good for the role. They really do look similar, and Kirsten does NOT deserve the wrap she gets from people. Does anyone actually have anything bad to say about her other than her two crooked teeth, or the same drivel that is repeated on another gossip website? I’m not jumping on the “I hate Kiki” bandwagon.

Kirsten is a great choice, there is enough physical resemblance but her acting talent is what will count. I cant wait to see this movie!

She’s too young and too goofy. They should get an older and more senual actress. Charlize may be?? Even though she’s way too tall and lanky. Younger women just don`t have the sex appeal, they’re just “cute”.

so as much as i have to agree that Kirsten looks similar to debbie, and that if she was hand picked by debbie there must be a damn good reason for it; she’s akward and lanky and i just picture her in that scene in Bring It On where she was jumping around to that dude’s song about her… She can’t rock out! It just doesn’t look natural for her. sorry
In my opinion Elisha Cuthbert would have been an amazing choice! she’s sexy and confident and bad ass! When Kirsten dunst plays parts where she’s supposed to be confident, I don’t buy it!
A movie about Blondie is my dream come true, but i don’t think i’ll be satisfied. I guess we’ll all have to suck it up and give the girl a fair chance and hope she makes it believable!

I don’t know what everybody has against Kirsten, in my opinion, she is one of the sexiest actresses today. She’s a talented actress and doesn’t deserve to be spoken about in such a cruel way. She’s not classically “beautiful” but neither is Debbie and that is what makes her so sexy. I have been a die hard blondie fan for years, and I believe that Kirsten is by far the perfect actress for this film. I this she has an outstanding amount of talent and can play a wide range of roles. A role like this will proove this everyone.
