Jennifer Hudson bites the hand that feeds.
Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson has hit back at American Idol judge Simon Cowell, comparing her experience on the talent show to working at Burger King. Hudson – who was a contestant on the show in 2004 – was rejected and tipped for failure by Cowell. When she went onto Oscar success through her role in Dreamgirls, Cowell accused Hudson of failing to appreciate the “big opportunity” her appearance on the show offered her. But Best Supporting Actress Hudson snaps back, “If I’d been any better at my job when I was at Burger King in my middle teens I wouldn’t be here either, so should I thank them too?”
Wow…what an idiot! How do you compare BK and American Idol? What a dumbass. Haha, remember that pink dress she wore on AI – and how much crap Simon gave her for it? Apparently her sister made it or something…but when I saw that picture, I couldn’t help but post it.

I disagree with you. I don’t think her stint on AI helped her much get that role or win that oscar/golden globe. She is a bigger talent…

Are you kidding? Jennifer Hudson wouldn’t be anything without American Idol…there are 10 other actresses that could have played that role but she got it b/c of AI. She needs to get a grip.

haha, i love her.
i mean, come on… saying that she would’ve won an oscar for working at burger king? yeah right.

I absolutely support Jennifer Hudson on this! If the person who once deemed you for failure now wants you to feel some kind of special gratitude towards him then wouldn’t you want to give him a similar response? American Idol is not the only way to the top for talented people and for Cowell to be so smug about it just makes him a jerk.

No one would have a clue who she was if she wasn’t on American Idol. That was her stepping stone to “Dream Girls”. How ungrateful can a person be.

Granted, AI was a stepping stone for Jennifer, but at the same time Simon needs to STFU. He’s always fishing for compliments from successful AI contestants. When they don’t bow down and thank him personally for their success, he goes on a tirade and says they’re unappreciative. He told her she would fail. Why in hell should she give him any thanks?

The fact is , AI made her famous enough to be seleted for that role in dream girls. Come on guys, be realistic, Simon is human and a successful businessman in the music industry. He sees people like this young woman everyday, his voice counts. Personally, i think this woman has an attitude problem, which is part of the elements judges look upon let aside the voice.
