Barry Manilow is HITCHED!

The “Copacabana Crooner” and his longtime manager Garry Kief tied the knot last year in a private ceremony, multiple sources confirm to People:

“It was a surprise,” a friend of the couple says of the wedding, which was held at Manilow’s Palm Springs, California, home and attended by “20 to 30 guests” who had been told they were attending a “lunch.”

Though the wedding was private and without any official paperwork, Manilow and Kief both wear wedding bands. So I guess it was more of a commitment ceremony?

“(The couple) are committed to one another and have been for a very long time,” a Manilow source says. “They have a great relationship. Garry has always been there for Barry.”

News of the nuptials may surprise some, but the source says Manilow has never tried to hide his sexual orientation.

“He’s at a point now where he’s got his career and personal life in a great place and he really doesn’t care what people think,” the source says. “He’s in love and happy.”

Sounds like it! Because this feels totally like one of those situations where someone goes their WHOLE career kinda denying who they are, only to finally at age SEVENTY-FRIGGING-ONE come out and do something nice for themselves and be honest. So, I hope Barry and Garry have a great life, devoid of judgement that probably plagued most of Manilow’s life and career.

Frances Bean Cobain “Didn’t Like Nirvana That Much.”

Frances Bean Cobain slams Lana Del Ray for death comments

Frances Bean Cobain might be rock royalty- but she’s been keeping out of the spotlight for years. Now 22 and a visual artist, Kurt Cobain‘s daughter speaks publicly for the first time about her father; life after his death; her complex relationship with her mother, Courtney Love; and the new film, written, directed and produced by Brett Morgen. Rolling Stone reports:

On her dad’s band: I don’t really like Nirvana that much [grins]. Sorry, promotional people, Universal. I’m more into Mercury Rev, Oasis, Brian Jonestown Massacre [laughs]. The grunge scene is not what I’m interested in. But “Territorial Pissings” [on Nevermind] is a fucking great song. And “Dumb” [on In Utero] – I cry every time I hear that song. It’s a stripped-down version of Kurt’s perception of himself – of himself on drugs, off drugs, feeling inadequate to be titled the voice of a generation.

On not being interested in her dad’s music: I would have felt more awkward if I’d been a fan. I was around 15 when I realized he was inescapable. Even if I was in a car and had the radio on, there’s my dad. He’s larger than life. and our culture is obsessed with dead musicians. We love to put them on a pedestal. If Kurt had just been another guy who abandoned his family in the most awful way possible . . . But he wasn’t. He inspired people to put him on a pedestal, to become St. Kurt. He became even bigger after he died than he was when he was alive. You don’t think it could have gotten any bigger. But it did.

On being 22: It’s the first year a fire has been lit under my ass – not because of the documentary, just personally. I have this motivation and ambition that I didn’t have before: “I want to go paint this painting.” The hardest part of doing anything creatively is just getting up and doing. Once I get out of bed and get into my art room, I start painting. I’m there. And I’m doing it.

On her new documentary about Nirvana, Montage of Heck: It’s emotional journalism. It’s the closest thing to having Kurt tell his own story in his own words – by his own aesthetic, his own perception of the world. It paints a portrait of a man attempting to cope with being a human. When Brett and I first met, I was very specific about what I wanted to see, how I wanted Kurt to be represented. I told him, “I don’t want the mythology of Kurt or the romanticism.” Even though Kurt died in the most horrific way possible, there is this mythology and romanticism that surrounds him, because he’s 27 forever. The shelf life of an artist or musician isn’t particularly long. Kurt has gotten to icon status because he will never age. He will always be that relevant in that time and always be beautiful. There is, with any great artist, a little manic-ness and insanity. Tropic of Cancer is one of my favorite books. And [author] Henry Miller had this work ethic, where he would get out of bed every day and force himself to write five pages. It taught me that if you do the work, you progress. So many people are content to settle. My dad was exceptionally ambitious. But he had a lot thrown on him, exceeding his ambition. He wanted his band to be successful. But he didn’t want to be the fucking voice of a generation.

Wanna Park? Not So Fast, Kardashians.

Kim Kardashian Is Taking A Break From Trying To Get Pregnant

Thanks to artist Plastic Jesus, the Kardashian family may find it harder to park around Hollywood.  Yep, that’s the same controversial artist who recently made headlines for the cocaine-snorting Oscar statue on Hollywood Boulevard. Well, he’s struck again, and this time, it’s getting REAL…as in, targeting reality television’s top dogs.

Plastic Jesus placed “No Kardashian Parking” signs all around Hollywood, right next to the normal traffic signs in the area. There’s even one outside of the famed Dash boutique (inconvenient for you, Khloe, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian!).

The genus of the installation came after an unnamed member of the Kardashian family forced traffic to a standstill as a horde of photographers took pictures of the star shopping. The whole thing’s a comment on how much our society pays attention/is obsessed with the whims of celeb-reality culture.

What do YOU think of the installation?

Bethenny Frankel Hired A Personality Coach
Bethenny Frankel does not talk up her dating experience, but know that she’ll never be popping up on any matches or apps online!

“I don’t have any apps,” Frankel, 44, tells PEOPLE. “I’m the most technically-challenged person you know.” Now the author of a new dating-advice book I Suck at Relationships So You Don’t Have To, the reality star explains, “I am averse to online dating.”

Bear in mind, Frankel is pretty newly single and still in the middle of a bitter divorce from her second husband, Jason Hoppy. She says, “I’ve met several interesting people but I’m not overly motivated.”

“I have dated since my split and enjoyed it,” she says. “I’m not in a relationship right now and I think people make a lot more about what’s been going on the past year than what really happened. I’m really sitting back.”

Frankel, who just returned to Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City, also has an unexpected- but kinda useful- rule about sex to share!

“You have to make sure the person you sleep with is someone you really want to sleep with because there might be somebody else in their circle that you would like – and that puts a damper on things,” says the ever-practical Frankel.

“You never know. You might want to wait a minute because you never know who you can meet through other people. Do a background check,” she says.

Pretty practical advice, Bethenny! Do you guys have any dating tips she missed?
