Last week NBC released our first look at the new Wonder Woman costume, and the reaction was anything buy positive. Most people (myself included) thought the costume looked Halloween-ish, cheap, plastic, and completely un-cool.

Well, the powers-that-be at NBC must have been listening, because when Wonder Woman star Adrianne Palicki showed up on set last night, the costume had changed!

The bright-blue-stripper-pants are gone, as are the blue high-heel boots. I think the changes look much better.

I’m already not interested in this show. I think if anything, they should have made a ‘Wonder Woman’ movie. A TV show seems a bit much – how are they going to keep it interesting? It’s going to end up like ‘Heroes’ did in the last season, absurd.

Elizabeth Hurley hasn’t had a major role since 2004, and now she’s making her way back to the lime light with NBC’s new TV series, ‘Wonder Woman’!

The news was announced on her Twitter, “Thrilled to be doing the NBC pilot Wonder Woman. I’ll be playing the evil villain. Can’t wait” she wrote.

Adrianne Palicki, of Friday Night Lights, has been cast to play Wonder Woman. David Kelley the genius behind Ally McBeal and Boston Legal is the writer.

Christina Hendricks has revealed that she would love to try the skin tight lycra outfit of Wonder Woman on for size.

The  35-year-old actress revealed her aspirations to play the sexy superheroine during an interview with chat show host Rachel Ray.

Although actress quashed speculation that she has been offered the role she was quick to outline that she would be eager to take it on.

She said: ‘I heard that rumour too – I don’t know where it got started but I love it!,’

‘I’ve been wanting to wear that outfit my whole life! I’d love to [do it]. That would be such fun! Let’s put it out there!’
But with the star’s ample bosom the tight fitting outfit may need some adjustment to cater for her curvy figure.

Although she is body confident and is proud of her curves the actress has revealed that she was put under pressure to conform to industry norms.

Speaking to Grazia earlier this year she said: ‘People in the industry have been telling me to lose weight for years but I like the way I look.’

However the star, who is married to actor Geoffrey Arend, wasn’t always quite so curvy.
‘I started out as a model and when I went to Italy to build my modelling book, I gained 15 pounds from all the pastas and cappuccinos,’ she told the magazine

At the tender age of 69, Wonder Woman is losing the hotpants and her maker has given her pants instead!

The new costume, created by celebrated artist and DC Comics co-publisher Jim Lee, is made up of a red top with the signature “WW” logo; a cropped blue biker jacket with white stars; and skin-tight navy blue pants and matching boots.

“The bracelets are still there, but made more colorful, tied on the inside and over the hand, with a script W on each of them that form WW when she holds them side by side…and if you get hit by one of them, it leaves a W mark,” said writer J. Michael Straczynski, in a post on DC Comics’s “The Source.” “This is a Wonder Woman who signs her work.”

J. Michael Straczynski – who penned the screenplay for Angelina Jolie’s 2008 drama “Changeling” – is taking over the comic book series, and he told the New York Times that he’s excited about Wonder Woman’s new wardrobe.

“She’s been locked into pretty much the exact same outfit since her debut in 1941,” Straczynski said. “If you’re going to make a statement about bringing Wonder Woman into the 21st century, you need to be bold and you need to make it visual. I wanted to toughen her up, and give her a modern sensibility.”

And besides, he added, “What woman only wears only one outfit for 60-plus years?”

The new look will be unveiled in issue number 600, which hits newstands today!
