Well, are you surprised?!
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt‘s new venture looks oddly, but also disappointingly, successful! The power couple’s Miraval Rosé 2012 wine completely sold out all 6,000 bottles in five hours on Thursday, the first day it was available online. “The sale started at 9 a.m., and all the bottles were sold out by 2 p.m.,” Vitabella, the public relations firm representing the Jolie-Pitt’s vineyard, said in a statement.
Miraval Rosé 2012 was available as a six-bottle case for $139. Not to bad, right?
Later this month the wine will go back on sale, Vitabella promises! This time, however, it will only be available for wholesalers and restaurants. It’s unclear as of now if the rosé will once again be available for the general public, but given the great demand for it, the Hollywood stars and their business partner, winemaker Marc Perrin, it seems crazy that they’ll hold out on their adoring fans for too long.
Pitt and Jolie’s Château Miraval plans introduce a white wine later this summer and a few different reds throughout 2014. Why not, right? Château Miraval, the 35-bedroom estate and adjoining vineyard which the couple purchased for $60 million last year after leasing it since 2008, spans 1,200 acres … and has enough grapes to make 150,000 bottles of wine.
uh, I’ll have a glass, Brad and Ang!
