Adnan Syed, the subject of the first season of the widely popular podcast Serial, was granted a new trial by a Baltimore judge on Thursday, June 30.
Syed’s lawyer C. Justin Brown announced the news on Twitter, confirming thatthe Baltimore City Circuit Court granted their motion: “WE WON A NEW TRIAL FOR ADNAN SYED!!! #FreeAdnan,” Brown tweeted on Thursday.
Which is good news, because if you listened to ANY Serial you’d know just how crazy and how many twists and turns there actually were in this very odd and sad case. I’m not saying he’s innocent, but I AM saying the trail- which convicted the young Sayed of murdering his girlfriend Hae Min Lee-was pretty unfair.
The now 35-year-old’s case gained worldwide attention after Serial explored the case in 2014; the podcast was downloaded more than 100 million times AND won a Peabody Award. I loved it, and I’m eager to know how this retrial goes…
If this is real, it would be troubling for like, 10,000 reasons…
Apparently, there is some doubt that Robert Kardashian is actually Khloe Kardashian‘s dad, and that somehow, OJ Simpson (the later Robert K’s BEST FRIEND) is the father. I don’t know what happened (and surely, Kris Jenner could settle this if she wanted to) or how, but it is BONKERS.
And giving Bonkers some respectability means that I guess, OJ is going to take a paternity test. Whatever, okay, I guess?
Khloe, 31, was the third of the four children born to Kardashian and Kris Jenner but there has been speculation that she was adopted for years.
In the documentary Felix said that Khloe begged Simpson to do a paternity test to finally clear it up and now, speaking to Daily Mail Online, he revealed the disgraced football star’s conditions.
He said: ‘She has to go there and talk to him. He wants her to come out to Lovelock and visit him in person.
‘OJ will do it and the prison officials have told him they will allow it.
‘It’s just a quick mouth swab and they would allow it to happen during a visit’.
Jeffrey Felix, a former Lovelock prison guard who wrote a book about Simpson, has a book is called ‘Guarding The Juice’, added that Simpson wants Khloe to come in person to ‘show him a little respect’. He said: ‘He wants to talk to her about some other things too, but more importantly like her he wants to know if she is his daughter’.
Is this for real? Did Kris Kardashian really sleep with her husband’s best friend? Doubtful. This is probably just a media ploy. But if not…it’s going to be way more controversial than Tyga, Blac Chyna, Rob Kardashian and Kylie Jenner BS.
When it comes to Friday’s restraining order trial, Johnny Depp would do best by keeping his mouth SHUT.
Everyone’s wondering whether the actor will testify Friday in the restraining order trial, but the fact is, he probably won’t and that’s probably a good strategy for his camp. Sources close to Amber Heard say that Johnny will take the 5th because he’s deathly afraid he’ll say something that could get him prosecuted for domestic violence. Given the police are already involved, it would be too risky to take the oath and endure a hard cross-examination.
Makes sense, doesn’t it?
Amber’s team also doesn’t think Johnny will submit a written declaration denying domestic violence. TMZ reported that Mel Gibson submitted a written declaration in his custody war with Oksana Grigorieva, and what got him prosecuted is that in the doc, he admitted he had slapped her. Same thing with Bill Cosby‘s deposition, which forms the basis of the current legal battle against him.
Amber’s team believes they have the restraining order in the bank: Amber’s eager to testify, and if Johnny doesn’t want to talk it makes him look bad. The fact is, though, that Amber’s at the helm of this police investigation, and it’s pretty common for someone who’s in Johnny’s position to take the 5th in a civil case, even if there’s hard proof he’s innocent.
What he ACTUALLY does on Friday remains to be seen.
Well, they certainly aren’t getting kicked out of restaurants NOW.
On Wednesday’s episode of Kocktails With Khloé, Khloé Kardashian got her drink on with Lisa Rinna, YouTube personality GloZell Green, Straight Outta Compton‘s Marlon Yates Jr., and Rush Hour‘s Kirk Fox.
Despite the diversity of guests, the focus of the episode was still on Khloe (OBVIOUSLY), and how her fam dealt with the media scrutiny after the O.J. Simpson trial.
It turns out the Kardashian klan were discriminated against father Robert Kardashian‘s involvement in the trial…so much so that they were frequently pulled over, their cars were keyed, and they were kicked out of restaurants.
OH THE HUMANITY!
Check out the klips of Khloe talking life after O.J. below, and let us know if you think she was TRULY discriminated against.
