Who doesn’t love them some Taylor Kitsch? Well. I guess if you didn’t watch the AMAZING show, Friday Night Lights, you may not have the full appreciation of him, since his subsequent film career has been a bit lackluster (read: disappointment… let us not discuss John Carter…). I would really love some excellent roles for this fella. My husband and I literally considered the name ‘Riggins’ due to his much loved character on FNL. Perhaps I’m going off on an unnecessary tangent…
Anyway – Kitsch will be appearing on Ryan Murphy’s HBO’s TV movie, ‘The Normal Heart,’ along with a star-studded cast that includes Jonathan Groff, Matt Bomer, Julia Roberts, Jim Parsons and Mark Ruffalo. The film is about a gay activist in the 80′s trying to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS. So I suspect it will be excellent and possibly tear inducing…
Kitsch and his costars are interviewed by The Hollywood Reporter, and my lover, I mean, Kitsch, explains how he fell in love with a vintage pair of Calvin Klein jeans. (Endorsement deal here… Calvin Klein!)
“I’m not flattering myself, but they had to get the crotch elongated,” Kitsch said, moving his hands farther and farther apart to demonstrate.
“You just flattered yourself, there’s no two ways about it,” protested Normal Heart co-star Jim Parsons. “The first time you walked off the set in those jeans, I went, ‘What brand are those?’
And he goes, ‘Don’t worry about it.’ ”
Added Mark Ruffalo with a laugh: “Those are amazing!”
Kitsch said he wore the jeans “as many times as they let me,” adding that he and director Ryan Murphy had “mini-battles” over how often the pants could appear in the film.
I have nothing further to add… other than that ‘The Normal Heart’ will air at the end of May on HBO.
