Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are hit by the economy, too!
The celebrity couple is really downsizing from their 49 million dollar compound (which they sold to Ryan Seacrest) into a cozy $18 million mid-century modern Beverly Hills estate. Looks like the two will have to slum it with a mere 8,500 square that includes 4 bedrooms, 6 baths, a commercial kitchen, a couple of patios and only ONE rectilinear swimming pool.
Ugh, this economy, am I right?
The two had gotten used to their megamansion, which had 9,200 square feet. I’m sure Seacrest is very pleased!
Ryan Seacrest is especially hit by the sudden passing of host and television personality Dick Clark.
Having taken the New Year’s Rockin’ Eve torch in 2006, Seacrest learned an amazing amount of wisdom from the late radio and television innovator. The two became close friends over the years. This was a dream come true for Seacrest, who was a huge fan of Dick Clark and always looked to him as his mentor.
Seacrest tweeted, “I am deeply saddened by the loss of my dear friend Dick Clark. He has truly been one of the greatest influences in my life.”
I never watch ‘The Voice’. EVER. I tried last season, and it’s more cheese than I can handle. Last night – after watching an episode of ‘Chopped’ (LOVE IT), I turned on ‘The Voice’ for a second, just for s**t’s and giggles. It was right at that moment that Christina Aguilera stepped out in this unfortunate ensemble and sang the song ‘Fighter’.
Christina has been fighting the bulge lately – and in all honesty – she has lost some weight. Not enough weight, however, to pull off this corset and fishnets. Why didn’t she just wear a dress – or something that was a little more flattering!? I’ll give her this – she’s got some cajones!
Along with Aguilera, Blake Shelton also hit the stage and Adam Levine’s band Maroon 5 debuted a new song with Wiz Khalifa, fresh from his performance with Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre at Coachella.
After watching Christina sing, I switched over and watched ‘Shahs of Sunset’, which I’m afraid to admit I like. Darn that Ryan Seacrest!
Sacha Baron Cohen may have been the only exciting and/or interesting thing that happened during last night’s Oscars. The comedian shamelessly promoted his new movie ‘The Dictator’ while walking the red carpet. He spilled an urn full with fake ashed of Kim Jong Il all over Ryan Seacrest on live television.
At least Ryan has a good sense of humor about the whole thing.
Actress, singer and dancer Julianne Hough talks to Parade magazine about her lucky, lucky life. From Ryan Seacrest as a boyfriend to Tom Cruise as a co-star, the girl is living a charmed life.
On balancing her busy career with her relationship with boyfriend Ryan Seacrest.
It’s a hard thing to do, especially when you’re so caught up in your work and bettering yourself. It does get hard because you’re so focused on that, but I think at the end of the day you have to find a balance with what’s really important. I’m so lucky that I have a great relationship. I’m very blessed and I don’t take anything for granted. I think if you alienate people and just focus on your work then it just becomes lonely and it’s not fun anymore.”
On co-star Tom Cruise.
“Where do I go from there? It’s very cool to be able to say that my first real film was Footloose and my second film I got to start alongside Tom Cruise and Catherine Zeta-Jones. I’m very fortunate and I know it doesn’t happen like that every day, so I’m definitely still counting my blessings and working really hard.”
On dealing with fame and paparazzi.
“I don’t think you can ever get used to it. It’s definitely strange. Especially since I grew up in a family that it’s all about family and not about materialistic things. So it is weird, but I guess it comes with what it is. You have to remember where you came from, and I definitely have enough brothers and sisters to kick me in the butt whenever I get out of line!”
