Ryan Reynolds was betrayed by his best friend after his daughter with Blake Lively was born in December.
He revealed that he caught his best friend trying to sell off pictures of his daughter James to the highest bidder. He told GQ, “A guy that I’d known for my whole life, one of my closest friends growing up, he had been shopping pictures of my baby around. I kind of got in front of it, which is good. But it was a slightly dark period. A bad couple of weeks.”
He went on to say, “It was like death. It was like one of those devastating things to find out.”
Reynolds also said that it wasn’t hard for him to figure out who was trying to sell the photos. He said, “I mean, I don’t think he thought he would ever be caught. But it’s a pretty narrow group of people that I would send photos like that to. They’re just, like, my closest family and my closest friends: ‘Here’s us in the delivery room!'”
Apparently the friend had been using Ryan to get money, but that well dried up. He said, “Well, I think he’d ask for a check enough times where I was like, ‘There’s no more checks to be had.'”
He added, “There isn’t really a conversation to have. It’s just, ‘Oh, well, now I’m never going to see you or talk to you again, unfortunately.’ That’s kind of how it works out.”
Can you blame him?

We get it, Blake Lively, you loooove attention.
The actress and mother of her 6-month-old daughter, James, shared a photo of herself outdoors on Thursday. You wouldn’t overtly see that this is a breastfeeding pic, but Blake makes it known, just in case.
“The PERKS of breastfeeding,” Ryan Reynolds‘ wife, 27, wrote, alongside the snap of herself in some hidden tropical alcove, wearing a bikini and focusing on her daughter. Of course the daughter in question isn’t IN the photo…and also, how is this a perk of breastfeeding? Does breastfeeding somehow magically transport you to a tropical setting with bronde hair (her gross word, not mine) and a propensity for self-aggrandizing? I guess so.
Oh, and she also hashtagged a little about her hair, in case this pic wasn’t self-involved enough: “#YesThatsRiceInMyHair #BlondevsBronde #BrondeJamesBronde.”
BARF. The perks of breastfeeding, or the perks of being a rich, beautiful (and pretty boring) actress? YOU DECIDE.

Sorry, old man Ryan Reynolds. Sometimes hitting the pavement is in your job description!
Apparently, doing his own stunts doesn’t seem as fun as it used to be for the movie star, the actor tells People:
“I remember 10 years ago when falling on cement was hilarious. It doesn’t feel like that anymore. I’m right at that age where I’ll do as many takes as they want, but I’m lying on the ground after each one thinking, ‘Oh, God. Just get up and get up fast. Don’t let them see you [in pain].’ “
Even so, he does still love a good fight, especially in his new psychological sci-fi thriller Self/less, which opened July 6.
“I love doing the fight stuff,” says Reynolds. “So much of it is character-based, so you want to be a part of that and put your fingerprints on that and do it as much as possible.”
That being said, he’s not trying to be a friggin’ hero over here.
“I certainly don’t jump in and do anything that’s really dangerous,” says Reynolds. “I’m not out there trying to be a superhero. “There are some stunts I didn’t do in Self/less, like the scene where a building explodes and I come flying out of it. That kind of stuff I just don’t mess around with. Even if I wanted to do it, I don’t think they would let me.”
That’s for sure. Don’t damage that pretty face, dude! I would like to keep gazing upon it’s splendor for decades to come…

Ever since Blake Lively posted the above picture on Instagram to honor Ryan Reynolds on Father’s Day, there has been some buzz about how their daughter isn’t safely secured in the carrier. Now, he is addressing the baby carrier issues – and as it turns out, it all boils down to him being a new dad. Can’t really fault him for that, can we?
Blake posted the picture with the caption: “Happy Fathers Day!!! … @vancityreynolds Since the day our baby was born, I’ve felt so strongly in my heart that you were most likely the father. #ILoveYouSoMuchItsSilly”.
Cute enough, right? It was until her fans began pointing out that he borked up how he was carrying their daughter James in the carrier.
“The baby is not properly secured in the vessel that I’m wearing there,” he says during a Tuesday interview with Matt Lauer for Today.
“I’m a first-time dad and that is not the first mistake I’ve made and I can guarantee it won’t be the last.”
And, rest assured, adds Reynolds, James has been carried correctly ever since the controversial candid. “I had never used that particular carrier before so every other time it’s been perfect,” he says.
More than anything, I loved her caption on the Instagram picture – it’s hilarious.
