Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon married back in 1999, and split in 2006 – seven years later. Together, they had two children, Ava and Deacon, now 11 and 7.

When asked recently how he felt about Reese getting engaged again, he had nothing but nice things to say to NY Daily News:

“I’m very happy for both Reese and Jim,” he said. “I wish nothing but the best for the mother of my children.”

In May, Phillippe spoke to Ellen Degeneres and said the co-parenting of their children, Ava, 11 and Deacon, 7, was going well.

“Things are great,” he told the host. “It is so important as divorced parents to keep that connection. It makes the kids feel better that the parents are interacting. … We go to all the school events together, and we’re there for each other.”

I loved them together! I think I see them like Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams (maybe it’s an “R” thing)…I’m always hoping someday – somehow they’ll get back together! I’m guessing probably no….but one can hope!

It’s starting to look like Amanda Seyfried and Ryan Phillippe might actually be a couple!

The duo, who was first spotted together at Kate Hudson’s Halloween party back in October, were caught leaving Fred Segal together just yesterday in L.A. — and they looked like they didn’t want to be seen.

The sightings don’t stop there though — according to Billboard, the two were also seen together at a secret Foo Fighters show last night at Paladino’s.

Seyfried was previously linked to her “Mama Mia” co-star Dominic Cooper while Phillippe dated actress Abbie Cornish from 2007 until February 2010.

It’s been two years since Reese Witherspoon, who won a Best Actress Oscar in 2006 for Walk the Line, has graced a movie, unless you count her voicing a nearly 50-foot-tall animated woman in Monsters vs. Aliens. But while moviegoers may feel like she’s been away for a while, Witherspoon has shot three movies that will hit theaters over the next year. In How Do You Know (rated PG-13, opening Dec. 17), she’s an Olympic-caliber softball player whose career has hit a wall and who finds herself caught romantically between a rakish star pitcher (Owen Wilson) and a broke businessman (Paul Rudd). It’s a role that calls on both her dramatic skills and comedy chops, says writer-director James L. Brooks: “The fact that she’s a world-class actress with that kind of comedic talent—she’s for real.” Next year Witherspoon will star in the period romance Water for Elephants and the action comedy This Means War. Meanwhile, off screen, the 34-year-old actress, who split from actor Ryan Phillippe in 2006 after seven years of marriage, has been raising their two kids—Ava, 11, and Deacon, 7—and, recently, dating agent Jim Toth, a relationship that has sparked breathless engagement rumors. Based on crime writer Michael Connelly’s novel of the same name, the film stars McConaughey as Mickey Haller, a morally ambiguous barrister driven around Los Angeles in a Lincoln Town Car by a former client working of his legal fees.

As luck would have it, he lands for a client the wealthy real estate developer Louis Ross Roulet (Ryan Phillippe), who’s been accused of attacking a beautiful young woman.

Well they would make a cute couple!

Amanda Seyfried and Ryan Phillippe not only got cozy at Kate Hudson’s annual Halloween bash at her Pacific Palisades, Calif., home — they also got close at another bash, hosted by CAA’s Todd Feldman on Saturday night in Beverly Hills.

Seyfried, 24, who wore a dog costume, was overheard telling partygoers, “We’re hanging out. He told me this was a good party.”

She was “flirty” all night, says a witness. “She was listening to him and talking close but no making out … she seemed intrigued by him.”

Phillippe, 36, dressed as Star Wars character Obi-Wan Kenobi, “was being extra friendly and spirited,” adds the onlooker. “I’ve never seen him in such a good mood. He looked cute and was smiling a lot.”

Says another insider, “They definitely hit it off.”
