NFL And Pepsi Say Adele Was NOT Offered The Superbowl Halftime Show

0212-adele-inset3-1

Adele, you playin’?

Yesterday, while performing at a LA show,  we reported that Adele said she turned down the opportunity to perform at 2017’s Super Bowl halftime show, but the NFL and halftime show sponsor Pepsi are DENYING that an official offer was ever put on the table.  Now, I’m wont to believe Adele, but why would Pepsi and the NFL deny asking Adele to perform? Seems weird.

On Sunday, the NFL and Pepsi released the following joint statement:

“The NFL and Pepsi are big fans of Adele. We have had conversations with several artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, we have not at this point extended a formal offer to Adele or anyone else. We are focused on putting together a fantastic show for Houston and we look forward to revealing that in good time.”

Hmmm, what’s the deal with this? I guess we’ll find out who they chose on Feb. 5, 2017, when the show airs?

Everyone Relax, Adele’s Not Performing At The Super Bowl

Screen Shot 2016-08-14 at 9.28.56 PM

One megastar down…many to go.

Adele set the record straight on Saturday, August 14, when she told a bunch of Los Angelinos at a concert that she will NOT be performing at the Super Bowl next February…and her reason? It’s pretty adorable.

“First of all, I’m not doing the Super Bowl,” she told the audience. “I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don’t really … I can’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I did say no. I’m sorry. Maybe next time, for my next album, because I’m going to do a dance album next time. So maybe I’ll do it then.”

The 28-year-old songstress was referring to reports by the UK’s Sun that “organizers are doing absolutely everything they can to try to persuade her to sign up” which might be true, or not. Either way, she’s shutting it down.

With Adele out, who do YOU think will be this Superbowl’s halftime show?! WEIGH IN BELOW!

The Weeknd Cancelled His Jimmy Kimmel Appearance Because Of Donald Trump!

Republic Records Grammy Celebration Presented By Chromecast Audio At Hyde Sunset Kitchen & Cocktail

We know what side of the political spectrum The Weeknd and rapper Belly are on!

The two cancelled their performance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” because Donald Trump was set to appear on the episode, which is pretty darned cool. The Weeknd is the hottest musician right now, and him doing this totally makes a statement. Speaking of statements, Belly and the Weeknd both have made their stance publicly known:

“I feel like the way I was raised was to be able to see through all the titles in this world — from religion to race,” Belly said in a statement. “I just didn’t want to feel like I was a part of a celebration for somebody who has beliefs that majority of us don’t agree with.”

Trump has been criticized by some political rivals and voters for his comments on topics including women, refugees, immigrants and Muslims, such as when he said some Mexican immigrants in the U.S. illegally are “rapists” and when he called for a ban on Muslim immigration into the United States.

A Trump spokeswoman didn’t immediately respond to an email seeking comment on The Weeknd and Belly.

The Jimmy Kimmel show had no comment, a representative said. Representatives for The Weeknd didn’t immediately respond to emails seeking comment.

The Weeknd won two Grammy Awards earlier this year, including best urban contemporary album for “Beauty Behind the Madness.” Belly has co-written many of The Weeknd’s hits, including “Earned It,” ”The Hills,” ”Into the Night” and “Often.”

The Weeknd appears on Belly’s song “Might Not,” which they were set to perform on Kimmel’s show.

Belly, who’s signed to Jay Z’s Roc Nation management, will release a new mixtape, “Another Day In Paradise,” on Friday.

“I’m here on a campaign of positivity and love and to contribute what I can to music,” Belly said. “I create songs people go to sleep and wake up to, songs that they fall in love to. For me, being Muslim and being somebody that appreciates my access here in America, I love the fact that I’m able to be here. To play my part in this business is a privilege and a beautiful thing. The fact that I could lose that ability through the actions of someone such as Donald Trump isn’t right to me. At all.”

Take a stand, you two! Hopefully the rest of the country will follow suit.

Mariah Carey, Being Insured For 70 Million Seems A Bit Much

Mariah Carey Is On A Downward Spiral

While most celebs pride themselves on being “down to earth,” Mariah Carey is the opposite (her version of “down to earth” would be like, only taking the yacht to St. Tropez when her tan was fading). Anyhow, we just found out that she’s insured her vocal chords and hamstrings for $70 million.

To give you perspective- Taylor Swift‘s legs are rumored t be insured for 40 million, and she’s the biggest musician on the planet right now, not some 90’s throwback. And it probably isn’t true, either.

To guard against something happening on tour, TMZ reports that Mariah and company just got a $35 million insurance policy for her voice, and another policy of equal amount for her gams. Because you KNOW if something goes wrong with her gams, MILLIONS are at stake. LOL.

No insurance policies for her butt or hair or ego…yet.
