Nicole Kidman is the picture of perfection on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar’s February 2011 issue, on newsstands Tuesday, January 18!

I remember the first time I met Nicole Kidman. We were at a Golden Globes party in 2005 and—typical Hollywood story—we share an agent. I remember meeting this tall, beautiful woman who was there with her mom and dad. I was completely starstruck, while she was nothing but gracious. Nicole had just seen one of my rom-coms, as they call them, and was instantly kind and complimentary. I loved her immediately. We’ve run into each other over the years, keeping in touch. But it was Adam Sandler, of all people, who brought us together in Hawaii to film the comedy Just Go With It. Now not only do I have a dear friend, I can’t see myself dancing the hula with any other gal.

On hoping and praying to find someone like husband Keith Urban:

“I remember thinking, Oh, my God, if you ever gave me a man like that, I promise I would be completely devoted for the rest of my life. Something that wild. I remembered praying after I met him that I’d meet somebody, if not him, like him.”

On family versus a career:

“I like to ask people if they would rather have a great love that lasts a lifetime or an amazing career where you go down in history. Some people do answer that they want an extraordinary career.” FYI: Both Nicole and Jennifer said they would choose love!

On what she would tell her 20-year-old self:

“That you’re going to meet the love of your life. My whole thing, my whole thrust in life, was hoping I would.”

On Isabella & Connor vsiting Nashville:

They’re not crazy about Nashville. They’re so grown up now. I mean, they’re adults.

How Nicole almost ended up an Oregonian (we could be BFF Nicole, come on up!)

I was living out of suitcases when I met Keith. I suppose in the back of my mind I was waiting to meet somebody. And I wanted it to be that if that person didn’t live in New York or Los Angeles, I would be able to move. In the back of my head, I was thinking I may have to put my roots down somewhere. I was going to move to Oregon.

Jennifer A: Oregon? It’s gorgeous. I understand that absolutely.

The British monarchy tale “The King’s Speech” led Golden Globe contenders Tuesday with seven nominations, including best drama and acting honors for Colin Firth, Helena Bonham Carter and Geoffrey Rush.

Other best-drama nominees were the psychosexual dance thriller “Black Swan,” the boxing saga “The Fighter,” the sci-fi blockbuster “Inception” and the Facebook chronicle “The Social Network.”

Nominees in the Globes’ other best-picture category, for musical or comedy, are the Lewis Carroll fantasy “Alice in Wonderland,” the song-and-dance extravaganza “Burlesque,” the lesbian-family tale “The Kids Are All Right,” the action tale “Red” and the romantic thriller “The Tourist.”

“The Social Network” and “The Fighter” tied for second with six nominations each. Among nominations for “The Social Network” were Jesse Eisenberg as best dramatic actor, Andrew Garfield as supporting actor and David Fincher as director.

“The Fighter” earned four acting nominations, best actor for Mark Wahlberg and supporting honors for Christian Bale, Amy Adams and Melissa Leo. Its nominations also included a directing slot for David O. Russell.

“We were hopeful for a couple, but to get this number was unexpected, exciting, and when it comes to the actors, so well deserved on their front,” said “The Fighter” producer Ryan Kavanaugh. “Everyone brought their A-game.”

Johnny Depp earned two nominations, as best musical or comedy actor for “Alice in Wonderland” and “The Tourist.”

Along with Eisenberg, Firth and Wahlberg, best dramatic actor contenders are James Franco for the survival story “127 Hours” and Ryan Gosling for the marital tale “Blue Valentine.”

Nominees for best dramatic actress are Halle Berry for the multiple-personality drama “Frankie and Alice,” Nicole Kidman for the grieving-parent tale “Rabbit Hole,” Jennifer Lawrence for the Ozarks crime yarn “Winter’s Bone,” Natalie Portman for “Black Swan” and Michelle Williams for “Blue Valentine.”

Did anyone watch Nicole and husband Keith Urban on Monday’s Oprah? How cute are they! I didn’t realize that Keith is also Australian. I guess I assumed he was American. When he started talking I was surprised to hear the accent! (Obviously not a big country fan)

Keith told Oprah Winfrey that wife Nicole Kidman, “saved” his life by forcing him into drug rehab in 2006.

Urban tried to delay the rehab stint, fearing for his new marriage. “[I thought], ‘Surely let’s give it a few years so we’ve got some solidity, because this kind of thing could tear us apart,’” he told the host, adding that he thought, “‘This could just destroy us.’”

Undaunted, Kidman went on with the intervention.

“She made a decision to turn around and initiate, ultimately, this intervention. It was done in such a way that the love in that moment was such that, I was, put the cuffs on, let’s go.”

Urban said that he was addicted to “everything,” though he struggled the most with alcohol and cocaine. With Kidman, he found himself able to replace substance with love.

“[There] was a huge hole in my life that was going to be filled by the right thing eventually or it was always going to be filled by the wrong thing,” he remembered. “Ultimately for me, [the right thing is] love. … Nic has taught me so much and brought so much to my life and opened my eyes in so many ways.”

Nicole Kidman carries daughter 3-year-old daughter Sunday Rose with husband Keith Urban close behind them as they all leave their NYC apartment together.

Nicole, 43, rugged up in jeans, a navy coat and a bowler hat while her husband wore a karki jacket with his denims.

Earlier this week the country singer put on a surprise concert in a train station.

Urban, also 43, teamed up with Amtrak earlier this week to perform two surprise performances at New York Penn Station as well as Philadelphia’s 30 Street Station.

He then sung for 50 competition winners on board the train while it was moving.
