No way, we all love your HILARIOUS first marriage, Jessica Simpson!
During an appearance on CNBC’s Closing Bell today, Jess joked that marrying first husband Nick Lachey was one of the worst financial decisions she ever made. Well, DUH. But, still- learning! It’s all about learning, evolution and progress (and Chicken of the Sea).
The star, 35, was on the business news show in honor of the 10th anniversary of her fashion line. Asked by host Kelly Evans to name some of her biggest money mistakes (either personal or professional) Simpson at first struggled to come up with an answer, but then, this:
“The biggest money mistakes? I don’t know. For some reason I thought of my first marriage!” she told Evans, laughing.
“That’s actually a common answer, believe it or not,” Evans replied.

Lest you forget, Simpson and Lachey were married from 2002 to 2006, during which time they starred in their own MTV reality show, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. And who can have regrets about that?! Not I.

Congrats, Camden! You’re a big brother!!
Vanessa and Nick Lachey welcomed a baby girl yesterday, and they could not be more thrilled.
Vanessa wrote: “I have been dreaming of this moment for as long as I can remember, the day I was going to meet my little girl. A friend recently told me how magical today was going to be because it’s the day I would meet my best friend.
So…what did the Lachey family name their little addition? Find out after the jump!

Nick Lachey took the diplomatic approach when it came to answering questions about his ex-wife Jessica Simpson. He said that they aren’t friends nor are they enemies – there is no contact and that things seemed to work out the way they were supposed to.
In a new interview on SiriusXM’s radio show Dirty, Sexy, Funny with Jenny McCarthy, the former 98 Degrees star admits that not making babies with Jessica Simpson turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
“I think in our situation, that was probably the best thing that could have ever happened is that we didn’t have kids,” he told Jenny McCarthy. “All things being equal, it was the best thing probably for the both of us that we went on with our lives and she’s obviously happily married with two [kids]. I’m happy married about to have two so it all worked out the way it was supposed to work out.”
Simpson and Lachey chronicled part of their three-year marriage on MTV’s popular series Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. They would announce their split in November 2005.
While both parties have moved on with new partners, the former boy band member admits he’s not close to his ex at all.
“I wouldn’t say it’s friends, but I wouldn’t say it’s enemies. There’s just no contact,” Lachey explained when asked about his relationship today. “We’ve both moved on with our lives and I think we’re very happy with the way it went. It’s not animosity, it’s not friendship, it’s just kind of nothing.”
He’s a good guy and he had the opportunity to throw shade at Jessica, but decided against it.
