Anne Hathaway Offers Neil Patrick Harris Oscar Hosting Advice

Anne Hathaway Films 'Song One' In NYC

Hosting the oscars might’ve been one of Anne Hathaway‘s most embarrassing moments, but the 2011 show has kinda made her…and expert?

In a recent interview with The New York Times, Hathaway had some solid advice for this year’s host, Neil Patrick Harris: “Do the opposite of what I did, and you’ll be fine.”

Hah!

Two years ago, the actress also gave advice to 2013 Oscars host Seth MacFarlane, saying, “Have a plan. Have several.” Which is also pretty solid, though, we’re all PRETTY SURE  Harris will be okay- he’s previously hosted the Tonys and Emmys, so Oscars should be just fiiiine. Hathaway also thinks this, saying, “He’ll be great. He’s a natural host.” We agree!

Neil Patrick Harris & David Burtka Have Gotten Married

Neil Patrick Harris and his long-time partner David Burtka have officially tied the knot in Italy. Congratulations to them on their nuptials!

Harris uploaded the above photo onto his Twitter account with the caption: “Guess what? @DavidBurtka and I got married over the weekend. In Italy. Yup, we put the ‘n’ and ‘d’ in ‘husband’.”

How sweet!

One of the tabloids better jump on this one so that we can see some good pictures of the ceremony and everything else. I wonder if little Harper was the flower girl and Gideon the ring bearer? We need pictures, people…STAT!!

How Neil Patrick Harris ‘Re-Fell’ in Love with David Burtka

68th Annual Tony Awards

Neil Patrick Harris is very frank about how his relationship has changed with his fiancé, David Burtka, over the years, admitting that the honeymoon stage has definitely ended – as they all do.  That doesn’t spell the end of a relationship however, and for them, starting a family allowed them to ‘re-fall’ in love.

“Having kids was one of those great moments for me. Watching David become another level of person, mastering this other domain, made me look at him with a whole other set of appreciative eyes. That made me re-fall in love with him.”

The two have 3 1/2 year-old twins, Harper Grace and Gideon Scott.

“That’s another important thing to realize. Everyone falls out of love with everything. You fall out of love with your house. You fall out of love with your job. You just have to figure out ways to keep [the love] alive.”

Harris is currently starring in Broadway’s Hedwig and the Angry Itch – which he received a Tony for.  He will also be in the highly anticipated film adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl which will be in theaters in October.

Neil Patrick Harris Talks ‘Gone Girl’

The 68th Annual Tony Awards

Who’s excited to see Gillian Flynn’s ‘Gone Girl,’ due out in theaters this October?  The book is so messed up, and yet I couldn’t put it down.  Many readers HATED the ending- but apparently David Fincher is switching things up at the end.  I’m not sure how I feel about that… I guess it depends on how it’s done.  Books to movies are always tricky.

That all aside… Neil Patrick Harris, best known for playing the fabulous Barney Stinson on How I Met Your Mother, plays Desi Collings in the film, an ex-boyfriend of Amy Dunne’s, played by Rosamund Pike.  If you haven’t seen the trailer, you can find it here.

In a recent interview with EW Radio:

Harris, who has seen an unfinished version of the film, promises that it’s “as unsettling as the book”—though he doesn’t really get why he creeped people out in the trailer just by standing in a doorway. Regardless, Harris is very happy that he took the part, one that Fincher himself offered him over lunch.

The film is set to open New York Film Fest in September.  Not going to lie… I’m pretty excited.  I was originally nervous about Ben Affleck playing Nick Dunne, but in seeing the previews- I sort of think he’s going to nail it.  So creepy good.
