Here’s How Susan Sarandon Feels About Breastfeeding

Susan Sarandon Promotes Soda Stream

Just in case you had a BURNING NEED to know how Susan Sarandon feels about breastfeeding…

The actress weighed in during a Q&A after a MOMS-hosted special screening of her new film The Meddler, in which she plays Rose Byrne‘s overbearing mother:

“Nursing can be really, really challenging. I was very lucky in terms of nursing, but every baby doesn’t respond the same way, and then you get mastitis and it hurts if you choose to nurse — not everybody does. And then the relationship with the pump really becomes a nightmare.”

Sarandon, a mother of three – daughter Eva Amurri Martino, 31, and sons Miles, 23, and Jack Henry Robbins, 26 — also shared her own experiences with nursing.

“The first time, I had a [breast pump] unit in my house that looked like an iron lung that I had to rent from Bigelow’s because they were the only ones that had it,” the actress said. “This was 30 years ago.”

Sarandon also advised soon-to-be mothers:

“What I always tell any woman who’s telling me they’re thinking of having a baby is that no matter how involved or well-intentioned your baby daddy or husband is, it is up to you in the beginning. That’s the way it’s designed, there’s just no getting around that.”

She continued, “Try to have the best time you can with the birth and everything else because it’s a pretty crazy, sci-fi adventure, and try not to think you have to be perfect.”

Screen Shot 2016-04-14 at 2.00.46 PM

Congrats, Kelly Clarkson!

The singer has given birth to her second child with husband Brandon Blackstock. Now, their first little girl, River Rose, is pretty much the cutest baby around so I can’t even imagine the levels of cuteness that will happen with kid #2. But I’m psyched to find out!

Thursday, the Heartbeat Song singer took to Twitter to welcome her little boy into the world and revealed to the public the kid’s name…

Remington Alexander Blackstock!

Cute name, right? SO CLASSY, like a fine freakin’ wine. TheAmerican Idol alum first confirmed she was expecting back in August, after she broke down in tears onstage during one of her concerts. And now, she’s a mom of TWO!

Kate Hudson Prefers To Watch “The Bachelor” Than To Help Her Kids With Their Homework

Kate Hudson is profiled the pages of InStyle’s May issue which hits stands April 15, and I gotta say, she sounds pretty insufferable. Like, to a Gwyneth Paltrow-esque level. She’s not like Drew Barrymore who’s like “I know I’m like this but I at least say I don’t like fame,” no, Kate is all about her celebrity pals and celebrity cliques, which makes sense given her stints to get attention.

Kate also opens up about a number of issues surrounding motherhood, and stuff that only super rich people care blather on about, like manners and gratitude she also says she’d rather “watch the Bachelor than do math,” which I’m sure is true. And it’s like, fine, you’re SO BRAVE, but you KNOW everyone just wants to see the photo inserts of your abs, so let’s get real about your actual cultural significance, Kate. Here are the highlights:

On her squad of Besties (consisting of Sara Foster, Jennifer Meyer and Nicole Richie):“I kind of like that we’re intimidating,” she says, “You know when you see a group of girls walk in that are having more fun than anyone?” Good to know all her Instagram snaps are exactly as exciting as they look. Speaking of which, Hudson says, “Someone asked me, ‘Who does your insta? It’s great!’ And I was like, ‘Are you out of your mind? I wouldn’t want anyone to touch my social media!’”

On Motherhood: “I was really young, like, 23, when I had Ryder. So, our relationship has always been [a little unusual]. I mean, we’re close, and I am his mom. I’m big on manners. I’m big on politeness. I’m big on gratitude. But I’m a bit of a wild mom.” She continues, “Some days I feel like I should win best mom of the day award, and some days I find myself doing strange things that don’t have any real purpose, in faraway corners in my house, and I realize I am literally and deliberately hiding from my children.”

On helping her kids with their homework: “Yes, I help my kids with their homework. But I also get bored doing it. I will sit and listen to my children pontificate and discuss their ideas till the day is long because it warms my heart, but I really don’t want to do math! I’m gonna say it: I’d prefer to watch ‘The Bachelor’ rather than do fractions and divisions.”
