Miley Cyrus is growing up. She’s been dressing more and more provocatively. Whether it’s posting pictures of yourself laying around in lingerie, or showing up on the red carpet wearing nothing but a coat, she’s certainly growing into her own sexuality.

The 19-year-old singer opened up about sex in a recent interview on The Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet, and said sex shouldn’t be a taboo subject.

Miley, who is dating The Hunger Games actor Liam Hemsworth, said: ‘The girls that really base how much they’re worth on the sexual favors they can do for somebody, that makes me really sad. Because sex is actually really beautiful.

‘It’s the only way we create, and it’s the only way the world keeps going. So it’s ignorant not to talk to your kids about it or not make it seem as magical or cool as it actually is. Kids have a TV, so they know what sex is.

‘So educate them and let them know… it’s a beautiful thing, and it is magic, and it’s when you connect with somebody.’

And it isn’t how much you’re worth. Your worth isn’t based on that, your worth is based on how you feel about yourself.’

Katy Perry won a major award last night at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas, NV. She picked up the Spotlight Award for matching Michael Jackson’s record five No. 1 singles off one album.

Teenage Dream spun off the No. 1 Hot 100 hits “California Gurls” (featuring Snoop Dogg), “Teenage Dream,” “E.T.” (featuring Kanye West), “Firework” and “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).” The singer nabbed yet another No. 1 this year, with “Part of Me,” the first single off the special edition album Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection.

Perry also performed her new single, ‘Wide Awake’ on the BBMA stage. The song was written for her upcoming 3D film, Katy Perry: Part of Me.

Taylor Swift won Billboard’s Woman of the Year, and was presented with her award by Zooey Deschanel.

Billboard also honored the late Whitney Houston, with a tribute performed by John Legend and Jordin Sparks. Jordin starred alongside Whitney in the singer’s last film, “Sparkle”. Whitney’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina, accepted the Billboard Millennium Award on her mother’s behalf.

“I just really want to say thank you to everyone who supported us through it all,” she said. “Not just when it was good, but when it was bad too … Thank you so much for showing that much love, because she deserved it.”

There was another tribute last night, and that was performed by Natasha Bedingfield. The singer paid tribute to Donna Summer, who past away from cancer last week.

On a lighter note, Alicia Keys honored Stevie Wonder with the Billboard Icon Award. The duo performed a medley of Wonder’s hits, “Higher Ground” and “Overjoyed.” But before getting off the stage, the pair had one more surprise in store. With a little encouragement from Wonder, who recently celebrated his 62nd birthday and had one wish for the soulful songstress, Keys belted out the chorus of Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind.”

Miley Cyrus and boyfriend Liam Hemsworth have adopted a new dog! The couple were spotted having lunch in Toluca Lake with their new black and white mutt. This makes five dogs for Cyrus and Hemsworth!

“Meet the newest addition to our family Mary Jane ” Cyrus tweeted on Saturday. (Hmm, could you tell us what the name signifies, Miles?) “I love rescuing xo”

It was only two weeks ago that Cyrus rescued another dog after it was left at a Walmart store. She scooped up the dog, and named it Happy.

Miley Cyrus is showing off her more mature side in this new picture that she posted on Twitter.

The 19-year-old tweeted this beautiful black and white photo of herself, saying “@brianbowensmith I ❤ you. I really do.”

She loves the picture so much she made it her profile pic!

We now know the reason Miley Cyrus’s movie “LOL” was delayed for so long. It sucked.

Believe it or not, it was released last weekend in a mere 105 theaters, and earned just $46,000. Total.

Lionsgate didn’t even report the official box office numbers for the movie.

Miley and Demi Moore filmed the movie back in 2010, and it’s based on a popular French movie of the same name.

“I really thought this movie could be universal,” Lisa Azuelos, the director of both the American and French versions of “LOL,” told Ben Fritz and Amy Kaufman of the Los Angeles Times. “Usually teen movies are tender or scary or have vampires in them, but they’re never realistic. This story isn’t too dirty and not too stupid.”

Unfortunately, the Cyrus version of “LOL” seems to have gotten caught up in studio politics. According to the Times, those executives who were initially excited about the film became less so as the months passed. “LOL” got lost in the wake of Lionsgate titles like “The Hunger Games” and “What to Expect When You’re Expecting.”

“LOL” ended up being released in eight states — California, Ohio, Illinois, Tennessee, Texas, Minnesota, Missouri and Utah — but not New York.

“It didn’t pay for the lights to be on,” Atlas Cinemas director of operations Chris Baxter told the Los Angeles Times about how “LOL” performed in one Ohio theater. Per Baxter, it made slightly over $100 from 12 patrons all weekend long.

Well, no matter what, Miley still supports the movie. “Thank u so much for everyone who went to see LOL. It is a film I loved making and I am proud of…. That’s really all that matters to me, ❤” she wrote on Twitter.

Miley Cyrus‘ boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth, is making good at the box office- Miley must be jealous!

Cyrus’ new movie “LOL,” made a total of only $46,500 this weekend, Movie City News estimates.The film, which was supposed to transition Cyrus into more “serious” acting roles,  didn’t make any impact at the box offices, and is being ignored by big studios such as Lionsgate.

To give you some perspective on how poorly the film did at the box office, 46,500 is just a few hundred dollars more than what “Marvel’s The Avengers” took in per theater, according to Yahoo movies.

Miley Cyrus keeps making a big stink about not wanting to be photographed or followed by paparazzi anymore…

…and yet- she keeps going out in purple bras and midriff-bearing workout gear!

According to INF, Cyrus kept tweeting and saying in interviews how she didn’t want media attention.  And yet- she kept leaving the house in flashy, somewhat skin-bearing outfits.  Yesterday, Cyrus seemed like she was putting actions behind her words, shrouding herself in her jacket and hiding her face.
