Earlier this week at an after party for ‘Scream 4′, Mickey Rourke firmly placed his foot in his mouth when talking about his upcoming movie ‘Passion Play’ costarring Megan Fox.
Here’s the interview with Vulture:
You and 50 Cent are in a movie together, right?
A really bad movie, yeah.
What?! Is it out?
No, it’s so bad it can’t get out.
Tell me why you made it.
For the money.
But you think the movie’s bad.
Terrible.
Why?
You have to watch it.
What about your movie with Megan Fox and Bill Murray?
Terrible. Another terrible movie. But, you know, in your career and all the movies you make, you’re going to make dozens of terrible ones.
You called Megan Fox, like, one of the best actresses of all time.
That I worked with [smirk].
That movie’s getting limited release.
That’s because it’s not very good.
I know a good movie we can talk about: your rugby movie.
That’ll be a great movie. We start shooting February.
When I read that interview earlier this week I thought – at least he’s being honest! The movie is supposedly so bad it’s going straight to DVD! But – Mickey quickly learned that you can’t exactly say what you want in Hollywood without getting into some serious trouble, so he’s taking it all back.
His apology:
“Hey, guys. When I talked to you, I was at a party. It was loud and crowded, I was in a shitty mood and I was trying to get rid of your reporter. Mitch is one of my best friends since we were kids. I loved working with him and would do it again tomorrow. I don’t know why I said that stupid shit. I love Mitch, I love Megan. My bad.”

You fill in the blank!
Mickey Rourke stepped out in New York City on Saturday sporting some spandex! The actor’s newest movie ‘Passion Play’ starring Megan Fox went straight to DVD. Poor Mickey.
Maybe the actor is getting into shape for his new movie, in which he’ll play Welsh rugby player Gareth Thomas. ‘I’m not in my prime any more but as an actor I need to look like I can play rugby’, Rourke recently said in a BBC interview.
Thomas, who now plays rugby league for the Crusaders, confirmed in 2009 that he was gay, becoming the first professional team athlete to be open about being homosexual.
Rourke became friends with the athlete after reading about the former Wales rugby union captain in an article and his interest in Thomas led him to want to create the film.
As part of the actor’s transformation for the drama, he is said to be putting on a Welsh accent and losing his two front teeth.
Gareth Thomas’s manager, Thomas Palladino, gave WalesOnline an update on the film, saying: ‘Mickey wants to film everything in Wales, although it is early days.
He really wants to throw himself into Welsh and rugby and really learn as quickly as he can.
‘He’ll learn Welsh I think, obviously where it’s relevant as well. He is going to get rid of his two front teeth and stuff – he will be taking them out.
‘Mickey intends to get as close to the character as he can, as he thinks it is a great story.’
Rourke said of learning the accent: ‘Everyone told me how tough the Welsh accent was going to be so I’ve started listening to the London accent and the Welsh accent for help but I’m getting nowhere.’

The Hollywood Reporter announced yesterday that Megan Fox is in talks to co-star in an upcoming spinoff of Judd Apatow’s 2007 blockbuster “Knocked Up”. Little is being said about Fox’s role, but according to THR, she’s close to signing the deal.
Apatow seemed to confirm the news on Twitter last night. He retweeted a link about Fox’s involvement in the movie, and then retweeted a fan’s response, “i am SO excited to see Megan in your film. it is such an interesting choice alongside rudd and your wife but i love this idea!!”
Judd has been excited about doing a spinoff for a while. “It is just a story from Pete and Debbie’s current life,” he said in January. “People really responded to their characters and problems. I felt like there was a lot of ground I could explore with them, so we’ll be shooting in July and will come out the following June. There are some fun details yet to reveal but I will let them come out slowly.”
Megan Fox needs a good movie, considering her latest film with Mickey Rourke, “Passion Play,” is set for a straight-to-DVD release.

Mickey Rourke announced yesterday on a British chat show that he’s prepping a biopic of Welsh rugby star Gareth Thomas, who came out of the closet to much fanfare a year ago. “To be a man who plays rugby, who is gay, and to live with that secret for the amount of years that Gareth had, to perform at the high level that he performed at, it takes a lot of courage,” said Rourke.
What do you think of this casting?
