Madonna Slams M.I.A.’s Super Bowl Finger Flipping

Color her unimpressed.  Madonna tells Ryan Seacrest this morning that M.I.A. was childish for her Super Bowl middle finger flip-off.

“I was really surprised. I didn’t know anything about it. I wasn’t happy about it. I understand it’s punk rock and everything, but to me there was such a feeling of love and good energy, and positivity, it seemed negative. It’s such a teenager … irrelevant thing to do … there was such a feeling of love and unity there. What was the point? It was just out of place.”

Did you catch the performance? What’d you think about M.I.A.’s stunt?

Elton John’s Husband David Furnish Bashes Madonna!

Sir Elton John’s husband David Furnish wrote a no-holds-barred post on Facebook BASHING Madonna’s Golden Globe win.

“Madonna. Best song???? F**k off!!!  Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in it’s narcissism. And her critisism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is.”

Madonna did give an awkward-ish speech and got in a few jabs at Elton, but I thought the two were friendly.  Apparently not so much.

Full List Of 2012 Golden Globes Award Winners

Did you tune in to the Golden Globes last night? I was really looking forward to Ricky Gervais hosting, but I think he was too tame this year.  It wasn’t anywhere near as fun as last year’s broadcast.  He came out swinging with a great Kim Kardashian/Kate Middleton joke, but then it just fizzled from there – in my humble opinion. What’d you think of the winners/losers?  I thought the speeches were pretty bland and forgettable.  Did any of them stand out for you?

Madonna Has No Authority Over Daughter Lourdes.

During the promotion of her film ‘W.E.’, Madonna shared her celebrity motherhood woes. She admits that Lourdes, 14, doesn’t fear her, no matter how strict of a mom she’s tried to be.

“She is always sneaking into my dressing room and borrowing things when I am still sleeping.  She doesn’t fear me at all…I have no authority!  If I say to my daughter, ‘That outfit is a little bit too risqué or revealing’ and she looks at me and says, ‘That’s rich coming from you’.  Sometimes, you have just have to say, ‘Because I said so!’”

The mom of four also says that despite her two divorces and several failed relationships, she’s still a romantic at heart:

“It’s not that I ever believed in perfect love.  But if you are a romantic like me, you want to be swept off your feet by a knight in shining armor. Unfortunately, we are raised on those fairytales, and even if we are sophisticated, educated, intellectually evolved human beings we still, in the back of our mind, think that Mr. Right is going to come along and we are going to live happily ever after.”

I always wondered if Madonna’s past would make for some interesting parenting conversations down the line.  How do you try to keep your kids from rebelling and testing certain waters when you were the queen of rebellion, experimentation and self-expression yourself?

Madonna Glams It Up At ‘W.E.’ Premiere In London.

Madonna is back in London for the UK premiere of her directorial debut ‘W.E.’.

Did she roll up on her Harley? or forget to take off her weight lifting gloves? I don’t get that piece of the outfit at all.  I can’t give her too much grief about them, she looks great for 53!

In other Madonna news, she announced today that her new album will be called M.D.N.A.  This will be her 12th studio album!

Madonna won’t allow volunteers to look in her eyes at the Toronto Film Festival. Seriously.

This story is so ridiculous – so insane – I sincerely hope it’s not true. Sad thing is – I believe every word of it. It has been rumored in the past that Madonna doesn’t let peasants look her in the eyes. It’s been said that she makes her staff look away – or down – when she is in their presence. So when I read this story this morning about Madonna making volunteers turn their faces to the wall so that they wouldn’t look at her popped up – I knew it had to be true.

Sounds like Madonna was all smiles and compliments for Canada in general and TIFF in particular, when she visited the festival Monday to promote her new film, W.E., about famous divorcé, the Duchess of Windsor, Wallis Simpson. One observer even heard her thank the festival’s orange-shirted volunteers.

It was a bit of a different story backstage, however, when eight of those volunteers were asked to turn their faces to a wall so that they would not look at the pop-star-turned-movie-director as she made her way to her press conference about the film. One volunteer told the Globe they all dutifully stood with their backs to her as she passed.

In previous appearances, Madonna has pointed out the similarities between herself and the Duchess, both Americans transplanted to the U.K. and both prisoners of celebrity.

At the Venice Film Festival earlier this month, the Associated Press reported her saying “I think once you become famous, you have to pretty much relinquish the idea that people are going to see you for who you are, or look beyond the surface of things. I think that was a source of great frustration for Wallis Simpson and for Edward VIII, because after he abdicated, they didn’t really have the opportunity to defend themselves.”

Well, one tip for celebs who want people to see beyond the surface: Hire staff who insist you be treated like a human being, not a deity incarnate, and treat them with such respect they would refuse any ridiculous suggestion that you could not be looked at on your way to a public event specifically designed to market your latest work.

Isn’t she disgusting!? These types of “holier than thou” celebs just make me SICK. I hope her movie tanks.

CAUGHT ON TAPE: Madonna insults fan giving her flowers – “I absolutely LOATHE hydrangeas”

During a news conference in Italy, a fan walked up to Madonna and handed her a boquet of beautiful purple hydrangeas. But apparently he didn’t know the singer “LOATHES” them. She is heard on the mic saying “I absolutely loathe hydrangeas. How does he not know that?” Poor guy, how in the hell would anyone know that!?
