MTV’s golden girl is all grown up and drama-free. How’d that happen? Hard work, a sense of humor, and a new perspective on everything she went through. Allow her to explain…Glamour’s May issue is available on newsstands and digitally (iPad, Kindle Fire and Barnes & Noble Nook Color) nationwide on April 10.
Photographed by Peggy Sirota in Malibu, CA Lauren Conrad appears (topless!) on Glamour’s May cover wearing floral appliqué briefs by Bluemarine and a gold Tiffany & Co. bangle. Inside the issue, LC suns herself in a printed Rochas bodysuit and a gold Tiffany & Co. bangle; she hangs by the pool in a Malia Mills bikini and a gold Tiffany & Co. necklace; she stands pretty in a peach Paper Crown dress, Eric Javits hat and LC Lauren Conrad heels; she kneels on the grass wearing a Miu Miu top and skirt, gold Tiffany & Co. and Gucci bangles and Jerome C. Rousseau heels; and lastly, Lauren sports a stripped sweater and shorts by Bill Blass and Oscar de la Renta wedges.
On body image…
“On the vacation to Cabo, I wore a bathing suit on the beach for the first time in years. Usually I’m just petrified. A couple of years ago someone zoomed in on my cellulite and it was so mean. I took it really personally. I haven’t worn a bathing suit in L.A. in years because of that.”
On her dating life…
“I wish I dated as much as people thought I did! It’s really funny because almost everyone that I’m reportedly “dating” is a friend of mine. About half my friends are guys, and I’ve always gotten along really well with guys. You just have to laugh at it.”
What really happened on the reality TV sets…
“During shooting, the producers would send us quick text messages telling us what to talk about. They couldn’t walk through the shot, so they’d just text me, like, “Say something quick about this story line.” That’s why we were always checking our phones!”
On her friendships The Hills…
“The show is what brought a lot of us together, and when it was gone, we didn’t have anything in common anymore.”
On what keeps her grounded…
“For me, the best way to stay grounded is to surround myself with friends and family who knew me way back when. There’s nothing like cleaning my mom’s dishes or taking out the trash to remind me that I’m no different than anyone else.”
She really is beautiful, isn’t she?

Reality princess Lauren Conrad is at it again. Not only is LC the current cover model for Allure magazine, but the style guru has just launched her very own style website: TheBeautyDepartment.com
The website is a collaboration with her personal hair stylist and makeup artist.
The 25-year-old is well on her way to becoming quite the style mogul: She has two clothing lines LC Lauren Conrad, which is sold at Kohl’s, and Paper Crown, which began rolling out to buyers this February, plus she’s worked with the cosmetic brand mark and has a three-book contract and the New York Times-bestseller stamp of approval. Do any Google search and you’ll see countless articles turn up about her signature look: black winged eyeliner, flowing tresses and a California-chic wardrobe. And since the star released her own book Lauren Conrad Style last fall, she, along with beauty entourage Kristen Ess and Amy Nadine, will have plenty of material to work with.
Check out the site — it’s pretty fabulous! The website’s “About Us” page reads:
We are so excited to be launching thebeautydepartment.com! This is a site for anyone who’s ever had a beauty question or gotten into a fight with a hair brush and lost. We’ll be covering all kinds of hair+makeup how-to’s, nail trends, skin issues, tools, current obsessions & inspirations, as well as countless quick tips. In the process we are truly excited to get to know all of you! We want to read your emails and we want you to participate in our voting polls so we can figure out exactly what you need! We want to make beauty as accessible as possible. We’re releasing new things every day including videos, printable photo tutorials and exclusive images of our lovely Lauren Conrad. Don’t forget to bookmark thebeautydepartment.com and check back every day for your daily dose of pretty!
LC has always been my favorite out of all of the stars from ‘The Hills’… she’s always up to something, whether it’s mastering fashion, glamming up her beauty, hosting events, writing books… and chasing boys (lol)…

Or a great plastic surgeon – you decide!
With her slim frame, toned arms and legs and amazing abs, it’s easy to wonder how Audrina Patridge maintains her ridiculously hot body. Sure, a healthy, active lifestyle and a diet full of fish and veggies help, but as the star of VH1’s upcoming reality show, Audrina, admits, she has her mom — and 69-year-old grandmother — to thank. “When we go out, people think my mom is my sister and my grandmother is my mom!” she tells In Touch. “They’re gorgeous!” Meanwhile, while there’s been a lot of plastic surgery talk when it comes to Audrina’s transformation from girl-next-door cutie to total sexpot, she tells In Touch she’s never “done anything,” but doesn’t judge people who have. “To each their own,” she says. “I do think people take it to such a point where they regret it, though,” she adds. With the whole Patridge family filming their ups and downs for Audrina — which debuts on April 17 — there will be no shortage of straight talk from Lynn, who dissed Lauren Conrad in a Hollywood.TV video that went viral late last year. “I’ve watched the Kardashians and I can tell you our family will blow theirs away!” says Lynn. “I don’t mean that as an insult, but what you see is what you get with us. We’re 100 percent real.”
I do not find Audrina Patridge ridiculously hot. She’s not ugly – but ridiculously hot? I think not.

When it comes to writing with flair and being a top-selling author, Lauren Conrad makes it look so easy. The reality star’s debut teen novel, L.A. Candy, was No. 1 on a New York Times bestseller list.
And that was just the beginning for LC… because she just landed a three-book deal with HarpercCollins!
Called The Fame Game, the Hills alum’s upcoming trilogy is set in the reality TV universe, and features Madison Parker, an ambitious, ruthless character from the L.A. Candy series who’s ready to become a star in her own right. In her way? Backstabbing family friends, dogged paparazzi and one media scandal after the next!
“We took the mean girl of the [L.A. Candy books], spinning her off,” Conrad, 25, tells Us of The Fame Game‘s tough protagonist Madison.
“This series is about a girl who loves everything that fame is, and that’s all she’s ever really wanted,” Conrad explains. “[Madison] has fun with the press, she enjoys the attention, she welcomes scandal!”
If Madison sounds familiar (Heidi Montag, perhaps?), Conrad assures Us her characters aren’t based on anyone real. “No. We have fun with it! We kind of take [Hollywood] stereotypes.
With a clothing empire to run as well (her third line debuts this fall), when does Conrad write?
“Between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m.,” Conrad tells Us. “My phone doesn’t ring, and there’s nothing on TV!”
Is Conrad’s longtime beau, actor Kyle Howard, an L.A. Candy devotee? “He read my first book, which was very sweet,” Conrad says, laughing. “I told him he didn’t have to read the rest. ”I don’t think he’s the target market!”
The paperback edition of Conrad’s third L.A. Candy book, Sugar and Spice, goes on sale Tuesday.
