Though controversial,  Lady Gaga got the go-ahead for her two concerts in The Philippines, and there wasn’t one extra seat to be had!

Gaga with her second concert in Manila on her Born This Way Ball world tour Tuesday night, despite rallying Christian youths. These kids considered Gaga’s act (gun barrel bra, meat dress, etc.) pornography and her promotion of homosexuality an offense to Jesus Christ.

No matter, though- Pasay City Mayor Antonino Calixto said the Grammy winner could perform, and did not in fact violate the conditions of the special permit granted for the performance.

And did Lady Gaga water down her act? Of course not!  Gaga’s not one to bend or shirk in the face of controversy, and she gave an excellent performance!

Lady Gaga is in another meat dress.

The singer sported a new meat dress while performing her song “Americano” this weekend in Tokyo. She’s currently touring the world on her Born This Way Ball tour.

Gaga shared the picture, which was taken by Terry Richardson, on her Twitter page this morning.

The singer’s first meat dress was worn at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2010.

Lady Gaga’s kicked off her 2012-2013 Born This Way Ball World Tour in Seoul, South Korea last Friday. The singer is already making headlines for her crazy costumes, designed by Versace, Armani and Moschino.

“It’s been my life’s dream to be dressed in Italian designers,” Gaga, 26, told US Weekly.

“Lady Gaga is the present and the future,” Donatella Versace said. “She is the most revolutionary and inspirational artist. She is fearless and daring. I can’t wait for everyone to be surprised by what we’ve cooked up together!”

And even Gaga’s giant castle stage set is a masterpiece. James “Winky” Fairorth, CEO of Tate Towers said,”The stage set for the Born This Way Ball is the largest scenic structure that’s ever been built to tour.” It takes fifteen 53 foot long tractor trailers to move the castle and main stage!

Gaga’s first show in South Korea got off to rough start when the government stepped in and banned minors from attending listing her music under “Harmful Content for Youth.”

But the show did go on for nearly 60,000 fans. Gaga then headed to Hong Kong tweeting Sunday, “I’m so happy to be in Hong Kong! We have 4 shows here! Thanks for buying tickets my amazing little monsters, I can’t wait to rock this city.”

The tour will continue to Asia, Australia and Europe with more dates expected to be announced soon.

How many of you will be going to see her perform?

I’m not a huge fan of big tours like this. Being from Portland, I have come to love smaller/more private venues.

The picture above is a pic Gaga Tweeted shortly after her show in Korea. She said “I could barely sleep last night. It was the 2nd highest attendance of fans in the History of concerts in Korea.”

Below is a picture of Gaga standing in the arena where she performed in Korea, before the stage was set up. “Imagine when it’s full. I love that it’s raining, so NEW YORK of you Korea!” she said.

Lady Gaga,  Rihanna and Adele lead in nominations for the Billboard Music Awards, which will be held in Vegas on May 20th.

But is anyone surprised? Glad to see some powerful female artists at the top of their game!

Adele has been nominated in 18 categories:  Top Female Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Artist and more. And of course, hit single  “Rolling in the Deep” is  up for awards in seven categories. Rihanna is at her heels,  nominated for 13 nominations at the awards, while Lady Gaga garnered 10 nominations.

Those are the big lady nominees, but also up for awards are  Lil’ Wayne in 10 categories and LMFAO in 17 categories. Not bad,  gentlemen- but I have a feeling these ladies will steal the show!

She isn’t?  OH wait,  she isn’t!  And Nicki Minaj wants everyone to know that her and Lady Gaga are very different than one another, and very talented in their own ways.

Minaj tells Nightline:

“First of all, I’m a rapper. I’m from south Jamaica, Queens. What are the similarities?… Wigs? Every female in this game wears wigs. Over-the-top costumes? Ehh. Try again. It’s getting tired now though, to me. In the beginning I was like, okay, it’s cool, hahaha, when they get to know me they’ll understand me. Gaga is a fantastic artist. She’s paved her way. She’s opened her own lane. But I feel like I have my own lane. And we never cross, ever!”

Eloquently stated…Though I can think of some similarities: individualistic, musical and wildly successful!

Taylor Swift ranked at the top of Billboard’s Top 40 Money Makers in a list released today. Taylor came in at #1 with $35,719,000!

After wrapping the final leg of her Fearless tour, Taylor Swift’s blockbuster success two years ago left music industry observers wondering what she could possibly do for an encore. The pop-country superstar answered them with her smash Speak Now album and accompanying tour, which jetted through Asia and Europe in addition to making its way across North America. Grossing $88.5 million in the U.S. alone, the tour netted Swift a remarkable $29.8 million. Honored as Billboard’s Woman of the Year in December, she racked up U.S. album sales of 1.8 million units last year-led by booming business for late 2010′s Speak Now, which sold 967,000 units and digital single track sales of 7.8 million. Songwriting royalties were another highly beneficial source of income, given that Swift wrote all 14 Speak Now tunes herself.
