Playboy model and reality mom Kendra Wilkinson opens up in her new book about struggling with drugs since the age of 13.

During a “Today” show interview to push her new book, “Sliding into Home,” the former “Girl Next Door,” star said she started doing drugs when she was 13 including – eventually including methamphetamine.

“I always knew that was wrong. It was one of those things where I kind of lost myself for a little bit,” she said. “The drugs and everything, that’s what found me and accepted me, but it wasn’t me. I am that tomboy, I am that kid, that girl that loves sports. That wasn’t me so I grew out of that real fast.”

Kendra said her drug use started shortly after her father left the family and continued until she was 16. She also admitted to secretly becoming an underage stripper, but said she “wasn’t a druggie stripper.”

At 18, she appeared in Playboy and became a girlfriend of sorts to Hugh Hefner – an experience she speaks candidly about in the book. Earlier this year, Vivid Video released a sex tape of Kendra’s early days. She reportedly cashed in on it.

But Kendra has also sought to publicly transform herself.

Her new reality show on E! chronicles her marriage with pro football player Hank Baskett and the birth of their child. On the show she battles very regular problems, like trying to lose weight after pregnancy.

“I have been through a lot and have gotten through it,” said on Today. “I’m safe. I’m home. I am where I always wanted to be.”

Kendra Wilkinson has taken to her blog to discuss the joys of motherhood. Here’s some excerpts.

I can’t believe my lil guy is already 7-months-old, ahhhh I feel like he was just born yesterday!!!!,”

“Watching baby Hank grow has been the most incredible gift I’ve ever been given, and each day I feel like I’m seeing him for the first time!,” she continued. “He’s such a happy baby — so playful, always smiling and giggling. Most of the time I have to stop myself from smothering him with kisses lolol.”

“I guess I was just in the mood to get sentimental today, so I put together a photo album of my lil man just being his adorable self!”

“Can we just talk about that hair baby Hank is rocking?! I have no doubt that this look is going to sweep the nation and be bigger than Justin Bieber’s ‘do hahaha!!!!”

Sounds like Kendra is in a good place in her life.

Six months after giving birth to her son, Hank Jr., Kendra Wilkinson was so desperate to get back her Playboy Playmate body that she considered everything from plastic surgery to a sauna suit. “I’m so used to being hot and fit,” she tweeted back in April, “This body is a culture shock.” Kendra was so miserable that she covered up her body even at the beach — and some feared she might resort to unhealthy measures to take off the weight. But as it turned out, thanks to a sensible diet and a workout program provided by her trainer, Nicky Hollander, the 5’4″ reality star was able to lose 30 pounds of baby fat in just three months — while giving up none of her favorite foods. “I devised a way that she could eat all of the foods she wanted,” Hollander tells In Touch.

Thanks to this simple diet plan, Kendra, 25, was able to eat all of her favorite foods — even husband Hank Baskett’s special barbecued ribs. “We’d just take one third of the ribs off the plate and give it to Hank, or put them in the freezer for later,” Hollander shares. Combined with a specially designed workout regimen the diet enabled the once-frustrated new mom to slim down to a svelte 117 pounds. To come up with Kendra’s workout, Hollander asked her which of those spots she wanted to focus on the most. “She really wanted to get her flat stomach and abs back,” the trainer recalls. “She also told me that she didn’t like ‘back fat.’” And even though she once jokingly complained that Hank couldn’t keep his hands off of her rounder rear end, Kendra also told Hollander that a firmer butt was a top priority. Hollander then devised a program that combined lots of squats and crunches for the abs, pulling and rowing exercises for the back, and “lunges, squats and different things to tackle the booty and firm it up.”

Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett opens up to Ryan Seacrest about her sex tape in her first interview since the tape surfaced. She says this is not something she wanted in her life.

“It’s extremely embarrassing,” she admits of the footage featuring her 18-year-old self with an ex-boyfriend. “I am a very open person, I am very honest about my life, but a sex tape was definitely not what I wanted in my life.”

Wilkinson-Baskett says that having to tell her hubby, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Hank Baskett, with whom she has an infant son, Hank Jr., news that Vivid Entertainment planned to release the six-year-old tape was heartbreaking.

“It just had to come out now when I finally cleaned up my life,” she says, choking up. “It wasn’t for anybody else’s eyes to see except for ours.”

Sorry this happened to you Kendra. And here’s some advice for young starlets everywhere. Just don’t ever make a sex tape. Ever!!

Attention all aspiring celebrities. Don’t make a sex tape. It will get released and you too will be embarrassed.

There’s going to be a baby next door. Kendra Wilkinson and her fiancé, NFL star Hank Baskett are going to become parents, she has confirmed.

The Girls Next Door E! reality star told E! News’s Marc Malkin, “Hank and I are thrilled to announce that we are expecting our first child together. We are touched by the outpouring of support by our family, friends and fans.”

In February, Wilkinson, 23, told PEOPLE: “We always talk about [having kids]. He wants kids so [badly], and I do, too.”

Wilkinson even went so far as to tell PEOPLE that she and Baskett, a wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, were already working on names.

“My first initial is K and my middle name is Leigh, so we were thinking of Kaleigh,” she said. “And he’s Hank Baskett III, so of course I’m going to have a Hank Baskett IV!”

Engaged since November, Wilkinson and Baskett, 26, plan to wed June 27 at the Holmby Hills, Calif., mansion of her former boyfriend, Playboy founder Hugh Hefner.
