Even the guys in Hollywood succumb to some weight-loss pressures; just ask Jason Segel!
Segel told David Letterman on Monday night that Rob Meyer, the president of Universal Pictures, told him he had to drop the weight to star in The 5 Year Engagement, the movie Segel wrote himself!
Says Segel, “I was told that it had to be conceivable that Emily Blunt would ever choose me to be her husband. Which is fair.”
Aw, don’t be too hard on yourself, Jason! The actor/writer, 32, wrote the part for Blunt, 29, but he’s snagged himself a beautiful woman in real life. Segel is dating longtime friend Michelle Williams, 31. And the new, slender look looks good on Segel. Says a friend, “Jason has been trying to be more of a grown-up lately. He is taking care of himself more, exercising, eating right and dressing better. Basically, not acting like a frat boy anymore.”

It’s been over four years since Michelle Williams‘ ex-fiance Heath Ledger died of an accidental drug overdose — and, after several stalled relationships, Oscar-nominated actress and single mom Williams, 31, is ready to get serious with pal-turned-beau Jason Segel.
“Michelle told one friend, ‘I love him!’,” a source says in the new issue of Us Weekly, out now. But pals say it wasn’t an easy journey for the My Week With Marilyn star, who “had a lot to recover from” as she mourned Ledger and cared for their daughter Matilda, now 6.
The sudden death at age 28 of the troubled Brokeback Mountain star “took a huge toll on her,” another insider says. “She is a romantic and and always felt partly responsible for not being able to help Heath.”
But 5 Year Engagement star Segel, 32, promises a fresh start. “Jason has already shown her his commitment to her,” a Williams source says.
“She doesn’t want to repeat the same mistakes she made with Heath,” a Ledger source adds.

Like a true gentleman, Jason walked Michelle home arm-in-arm after dinner. Then, he stayed the night.
Things are clearly going well between the pair – the next morning INF Daily’s photogs spotted Jason playing around with Matilda, Michelle’s daughter with the late Heath Ledger.
Michelle and Jason have been friends for years, through their mutual bud Busy Philipps. In fact their friends told Us Weekly, “I’m surprised it didn’t happen before now!”

“I don’t have a single song ready to go,”Timberlake recently told Playboy. “People keep asking me when a new song or album is coming out, and I don’t know what to say. Music is not my focus right now. It may be someday. It could happen next month or next year but right now it’s not where it’s at for me.”
Of course, that conflicts with what Timberlake told our reporter back in March, when he suggested that he always has something musical up his sleeve. “I feel like I’m always writing music and working on songs,” he said. ”But to make an album, you have to find a group of songs that speak to something that might not be on the radio currently and make sense for you personally. It’s right around the corner, I think.”
Outside of a few guest appearances and the occasional tag-team with Andy Samberg, Timberlake hasn’t recorded any proper music since 2006′s Grammy-winningFutureSex/LoveSounds. In the interim, he has carved himself quite an acting career, gaining good critical and popular marks in mainstream stuff (Yogi Bear, The Love Guru) and artier fare (The Social Network, Southland Tales).

Jack Black stars in the new 3D film adaptation of ‘Gulliver’s Travels’.
Black plays a magazine mailroom clerk who talks his way into writing a piece on the Bermuda Triangle. Upon arriving, he gets sucked into a secret world — called Lilliput — where he’s much bigger than the native inhabitants.
The supporting cast looks more interesting to me than Black, who – to me plays the same character in every single movie. I love Jason Segel and Emily Blunt. Maybe they can make this movie more than just another “Jack Black” film.
