Lena Dunham‘s reign on hipster indie culture continues!
The actor/writer’s critically acclaimed HBO show Girls has been renewed for a fifth season, which isn’t a huge deal except the fourth season hasn’t even premiered yet. Talk about HBO supporting their programming.
After various Golden Globe and Emmy noms and wins, of course we saw this coming, but HBO president of programming Michael Lombardo officially announced that season 5 was a go during the season four premiere party on monday.
Lena, Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet and the rest of the cast must be super thrilled. How do you feel about the show?

Congrats, Alison Pill!
The 29-year-old Newsroom star kicked off 2015 with quite the event- announcing her engagement to fellow thespian Joshua Leonard, 39, on Saturday via instagram!
Pill made the announcement on Instagram, posting a picture of the happy couple and her new ring, along with the caption, “Let’s do this, 2015!!!! @thejoshualeonard.”
The actress was previously set to wed “This Is the End” star Jay Baruchel, but they broke up back in 2013. According to Us Weekly, she started dating Leonard, who starred in 2014’s “If I Stay,” following her split.
I’m a huge fan of this actress, so happy to see her so happy!

Here’s something for all of you Sex and the City fans…
Sarah Jessica Parker is super close to headlining a new comedy for HBO, PEOPLE confirms:
Parker, 49, would play a wife who’s embarking upon a very long and drawn-out divorce. She’ll also executive producer the comedy with actress-writer Sharon Horgan (who penned the pilot script), Paul Simms, Alison Benson and Aaron Kaplan.
In October, Parker and her former Sex castmates – tortured – played with fans by hinting at a third movie installment of the popular franchise. The speculation started after Jennifer Hudson – who starred in the first movie – hinted at another sequel on Dish Nation.
Well, well, well. Sounds like if you have HBO, you’ll be seeing some more of SJP soon…

As much as I had problems with the misogyny and storybaiting in season one of True Detective, I just may have to watch season 2…
HBO has confirmed some of my favorite actors are making appearances in the drama, including Rachel McAdams as the female lead, and my future husband Taylor Kitsch in a supporting role. Also just cast was Black Box alum Kelly Reilly, whom I don’t know at all so she better be GOOD.
The eight-episode second season is now in production in California, and centers around three police officers and a career criminal who must navigate a post-murder web of conspiracy (like THE NET? God, I hope so). THR reports:
Colin Farrell will play Ray Velcoro, a compromised detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him. Vince Vaughn is set as Frank Semyon, a career criminal in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business partner.
McAdams will play Ani Bezzerides, a Ventura County Sheriff’s Office detective whose uncompromising ethics put her at odds with others and the system she serves. Kitsch is set as Paul Woodrugh, a war veteran and motorcycle officer for the CHP who is running from a difficult past and the sudden glare of a scandal that never happened. Reilly is Jordan, Frank’s wife and a former D-list actress who is a full partner in his enterprises and ambitions.
Season two, like season one, will be written and mostly cast by Nic Pizzolatto. I’m going to be all over this season, so check my twitter feed if you want in on some laughs and sweet recap action. Either way, will YOU be watching?
