Amanda Peet Didn’t Think Game of Thrones Was a Good Idea

Emma Roberts at The American Horror Story: Freak Show Premiere in LA

Note: Amanda Peet is a good actress, bad judge of greenlighting shows.

If were up to her, Game of Thrones wouldn’t have received a green light, People reports:

The actress, 43, has been married to David Benioff since 2006. He co-created GoT, now entering its fifth season, with D.B. Weiss – and Peet wasn’t so sure that the fantasy series should have been adapted for television.

“Yes, I thought it was a terrible idea,” Peet admitted to Conan O’Brien on Monday. “Terrible. Just silly. Dungeons and dragons but with real people.”

At that point, a low hush went over the Conan studio, and an embarrassed Peet put her head in her hands!

Of course, Peet is now her husband’s biggest fan – “Now I’m obsessed,” she revealed, telling O’Brien that she went into Benioff’s office to ask him something and saw the storyboards on his wall for the next season and she had to cover her eyes, terrified of spoilers.

The newest season premieres April 12, NO THANKS TO AMANDA PEET.  In fact, keep her out of any pitch meetings forever and ever please (and thank you).

HBO’s “Girls” Had Smallest Season Premiere Ever

Uh oh, HBO’s hit show Girls was renewed for a fifth season…but that didn’t help Sunday’s season 4 premiere…

This past Sunday, when Girls aired, 680,000 viewers tuned in, which marks it the smallest season premiere of the four-season show.  That number is down 40% from last year’s premiere, which is of course, significant!

Possible reason? A little thing called the Golden Globes.  But still…is Girls’ popularity waning?

I’m kinda nervous to know how far Lena Dunham and his already boundary-pushing show will go to boost viewership. What do you think- is Girls getting better or worse? Will you be watching?

You Won’t See Lena Dunham On Tinder Anytime Soon

The 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards -Arrivals-in Los Angeles

Easy for y’all to say, rich actresses who are all in a committed relationship!

In a recent People video, the star and creator of HBO’s Girls discussed the dating app with co-stars Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet and Allison Williams, who have varying levels of familiarity with the popular phenomenon.

“It’s for having sex specifically,” Kirke argued.

“If you’re talented at it, you can have sex eventually,” Williams said, “but…”

“Have you seen there’s Furry Friends? It’s Tinder for dogs,” Dunham said, presumably referring to the app Pet Finder, which she tweeted about in January 2014. “You put in your desires for a dog and then you swipe and they match you with a dog.”

Moments later, Mamet had a realization: “Oh, wait! Tinder and Grindr are different!”

“Grindr is gay,” Dunham and Williams said unison.

“I can’t keep up!” Mamet said in mock exasperation.

“It’s not about being famous. It’s not about being anything. It’s not even about being in a committed relationship,” Dunham told her four friends. “I believe Tinder is a tool for murder.”

Of course, Dunham is dating fun. musician Jack Antonoff, Kirke is married to lawyer Michael Mosberg, Mamet is seeing actor Evan Jonigkeit and Williams is planning a wedding with the co-founder of College Humor, Ricky Van Veen. So you know, why WOULD they be familiar with tinder? That being said, maybe have other dating suggestions for us single ladies…?

The 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards - Arrivals

Lena Dunham‘s reign on hipster indie culture continues!

The actor/writer’s critically acclaimed HBO show Girls has been renewed for a fifth season, which isn’t a huge deal except the fourth season hasn’t even premiered yet. Talk about HBO supporting their programming.

After various Golden Globe and Emmy noms and wins, of course we saw this coming, but HBO president of programming Michael Lombardo officially announced that season 5 was a go during the season four premiere party on monday.

Lena, Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet and the rest of the cast must be super thrilled. How do you feel about the show?
