Charlize Theron admits that her recent villainous roles (‘Young Adult’, ‘Prometheus’ and ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’) have all been apart of her ‘bitchy period’ in the same way Picasso had his blue period.
Charlize plays Meredith Vickers in ‘Prometheus’, a no-nonsense leader of an expedition to discover the beginning of the human race.
Speaking to Empire magazine, she said: “She’s a lurker. She’s always somewhere in the back, being very suspicious. She’s the red tape that everyone has to go through, but I liked the idea of playing someone who came across as cold and untouchable, and then slowly reveals she’s a human being – one that’s flawed and heartbreaking. She turns out to be the one with the biggest agenda.”
The film is set in the late 21st century and the crew of the spaceship Prometheus is sent on a scientific expedition to follow a star map which could lead them to the origins of mankind.
But as they begin to explore the advanced civilization of an extraterrestrial race, they soon face a threat to humanity’s very existence.
Prometheus is released in the US on June 8.
Here are some new pictures of Charlize and Michael Fassbender at the ‘Prometheus’ premiere in Paris.
Is it just me – or is Michael NOT hot in these pictures? What’s up with his hair?
Charlize Theron covers this month’s Vogue UK, and the Oscar-winning actress has never looked better! These are by far the prettiest pictures I’ve seen of her in a long time (photos by Patrick Demarchelier).
After taking some time off, Charlize has been back in the spotlight. First was last year’s ‘Young Adult’ (LOVED IT), and this year she has ‘Prometheus’ and ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ coming out. I can’t wait to see both of them!
She surprised fans this year with the surprise adoption of a baby boy, named Jackson.
She says she’s been planning on becoming a mother for a long time.
“I’ve always been very honest in saying I wanted a family. I’ve always known I wanted a family. I don’t think my mom could wait any more!”
On her son:
“Jackson is incredible, the greatest gift. He is the coolest kid ever.”
On what kind of mom she hopes to be:
“I hope to be like my mom. Fair, tough, loving and supportive. My mom has made it possible for me to be who I am. Our family is everything. Her greatest skill was encouraging me to find my own person and own independence.”
On why she was never a model, and how she stays in shape:
“I was too tall, too big, too late for the supermodel look of the Eighties. Kate Moss and all the tiny, grungy girls had just become fashionable, and I didn’t fit the bill. I’m sure there are women who never have to worry about what they eat. But I do. I exercise a lot, and I hike a lot. My mom and I hike at least three times a week.”
I just love these pictures of her! She’s so gorgeous!
This has to be one of the strangest video’s I’ve ever seen.
Charlize Theron appeared in a racy April Fools’ Day video for Funny or Die. Accompanied with a brief byline, the text above the Charlize ‘sex tape’ reads ‘Never before seen footage of Charlize Theron’s weird kinky sex tape.’
The “sex tape” shows the Oscar-winner involved in a strange (and un-funny) sex scene. I found the video to be incredibly awkward, and not funny…. at all. Watch the video below.
Meanwhile….Charlize Theron was spotted yesterday taking her new son, Jackson Theron to lunch at the upscale restaurant Bouchon in Beverly Hills.
The Snow White and the Huntsman actress was accompanied by her mother Gerda who has been on hand to help while Charlize has been travelling to promote the film all over the country.
The South African stunner, who confirmed she had adopted a baby boy three weeks ago, has said of the experience: ‘It has been overwhelmingly incredible. Every day there is something new.’
According to Charlize Theron, best male member goes to Michael Fassbender!
The actress jokingly saluted her ‘Prometheus’ costar’s member on Saturday during the Human Rights Campaign gala in Los Angeles. She was honored with the Ally For Equality award.
“Your penis was a revelation. I’m available to work with it any time,” the new mom, 36. Charlize is referring, of course, to his full-frontal nude scenes in ‘Shame’.
“I have to say that I was truly impressed that you chose to play it big,” she joked to Fassbender, 34. “Most other actors would have gone small, trust me. I know because I’ve worked with them.”
Fassbender’s manhood has been a popular subject ever since Shame was released. George Clooney even made an off-color joke about it in his Golden Globes acceptance speech after winning best actor, for which Fassbender was also nominated. Clooney thanked Fassbender “for taking over the frontal nudity responsibility that I had,” then wisecracked that the Shame star could play golf “with your hands behind your back.”
Have you seen ‘Shame’ yet? It’s intense, and it’s definitely NOT for everyone, but I really liked it. It comes out on DVD some time this month!
Here are some new pictures of Charlize and Michael at WonderCon, promoting their new movie ‘Prometheus’. Check out the NEW, awesome and amazing trailer below!
Here are some new pictures from WonderCon, which took place over the weekend. Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart were on hand to promote their new movie, ‘Snow White & the Huntsman’.
At the conference, Kristen revealed her love for playing darker characters, who swear and everything. She admitted they’re one reason why she picks the darker roles, “It’s because I’m a bitch,” she said.
Her comment was the highlight of a rather fruity question and answer session about the film at the WonderCon convention in Anaheim. But she also said she was excited about the film’s more mature characterisation of the familiar fairy tale favourite, saying: ‘Everything I wanted Snow White to be is there and that’s really rare. And the Los Angeles born star said she had to put herself through the mill to play the aggressive militaristic imagining of Snow White.
She said: ‘I hurt myself a lot. I got to jump off cliffs and ride horses. And that terrified me. I didn’t like that.’
Kristen’s co-star Charlize Theron, 36, was also in foulmouthed form as they tried to live up to the movie’s more adult demographic.
Explaining why she wanted to play the Evil Queen, she said: ‘Everyone has an idea of her. And there’s something nice about f***ing with that idea.’
When told that she plays “evil” really well, Charlize replied: “That’s because I’m a bitch….Picasso had his blue period, and this is my bitch period.”
It was a big week for Charlize, for as well as attending WonderCon, she also revealed she had adopted a baby boy called Jackson, who is now four-months-old. The South African stunner told Ryan Searest that ‘everyone has been so lovely’, ‘nice’ and ‘amazing,’ on his radio show last week.
I’m in love with Charlize these days. I watched “Young Adult” TWICE this weekend, and that’s after I saw it in the theater! I can’t wait to see this movie, either. I think the movie looks really interesting, and has the potential to be really good.
Charlize and Kristen also stopped by the Today Show this morning to discuss their new movie. ”‘Dark’ is a dangerous word, maybe,” Theron said of the feel of the film. “I think it’s just a retelling that feels a little more grounded in reality. And yes it has darker tones to it, but I think more than that, it’s just a great adventure — a great epic-scale film.”
For Stewart, the story might not seem as real, but it’s just as compelling.
“You want to join the cause,” she said of her character’s quest. “Considering that it’s a fairy tale based in a very unreal world, that says something about the characters.”

How do the girls feel about two Snow White movies being released so close together? (‘Mirror, Mirror’ starring Julia Roberts hits theaters soon.)
“I think these stories thematically bleed into a lot of stuff that is very relevant,” the Oscar winner explained. “So I’m not shocked that we’re having an outbreak of a lot of a lot of these classic fairy tales being retold…. There’s a way to do them in different worlds. I think that’s what the case is with (“Snow White”). I don’t think Universal would have backed this film the way they have if they thought they we were playing to the same audience as that other one.”
“Snow White and the Huntsman” opens in theaters nationwide June 1.
Charlize Theron announced earlier this week that she has adopted a son, Jackson. Today more details are emerging about her new bundle of joy!
“It’s been amazing, the amount of emails and congratulations,” the actress, 36, told Ryan Seacrest Friday on his radio show.
“Everyone’s just been so lovely — it’s been really nice.”
When talking about being a mom to four-month-old Jackson, she said, “I didn’t think I would be a fan of the swaddling, but the swaddling’s pretty amazing,” she says.
“It sort of looks a bit like a straightjacket — you’re like, ‘Is this child abuse?’ but for some reason they just love it.”
Actress Charlize Theron is a mom! It has just been revealed that Charlize has adopted a baby boy.
In a statement to The Associated Press on Wednesday, Theron’s publicist said the actress is a “proud mom of a healthy baby boy named Jackson.”
No more information has been revealed yet. This is Charlize’s first child.
The 36-year-old won an Academy Award for her role as serial killer Aileen Wuornos in 2003′s “Monster”, and was nominated for an Oscar for 2005′s “North Country.”
