This news makes me happy. According to Michael Douglas’ mother, he and his estranged wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones are reconciling. While the two decided to take a break back in August, Hello! reports that they have been vacationing and spending a great deal of time together over the past couple months.
The couple, married for 13 years, share two children together, Dylan, 13 and Carys, 10. Outside of their marital bumps, the famous couple has faced some health challenges as well. Zeta-Jones has been very open about her bipolar disorder, and pro-actively sought treatment for it early last year. Douglas has battled his own health issues as well, being diagnosed with tongue cancer back in 2010.
Michael Douglas won multiple awards for his performance of Liberace in Behind the Candelabra, and will be seen in the romantic comedy, And So It Goes, this summer, also starring Diane Keaton. Zeta-Jones, who won an Oscar for her supporting role in Chicago in 2002, was last seen in Red 2 last year.
Reconciliations are always wonderful news, especially when children are involved. These two have also faced enough challenges, it’s nice that they can lean on each other.
