Everyone’s talking about Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s engagement, and now we’re getting more details about what happened when Brad got down on one knee.

Although it’s been reported that Brad actually proposed back in December, Angelina didn’t get her million dollar ring until just recently.

On a recent spring day, Brad Pitt gathered his six kids — Maddox, 10, Pax, 8, Zahara, 7, Shiloh, 5, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 3 — as he presented love Angelina Jolie with a very special present: A tablet-shaped diamond engagement ring — estimated at 16 carats and worth $500,000 — which he helped design with jeweler Robert Procop.

“Angelina cried and smiled” at the proposal, a confidante tells the new Us Weekly, out now.

And the children, who had been extremely eager for their parents to wed after seven years together, were equally overjoyed, the source adds.

“Everyone hugged once she put [the ring] on. She went around and showed it to each of the kids.”

As the world now knows, Jolie, 36, quietly debuted that long-awaited ring at an April 11 private viewing at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, with startling photos and a confirmation from jeweler Procop and then Pitt’s manager emerging two days later.

“Angie considers herself bonded to Brad for life,” adds the source.

“Jen moved on a long time ago, and she is trying to just focus on her own happiness,” a source says of the actress, 43, who will celebrate her 1-year anniversary with boyfriend Justin Theroux in May. Pitt and Jolie announced their engagement last week.

“Jen is not a bitter person and she has always wanted Brad to be happy,” says the source. The couple divorced in 2005 after five years of marriage.

“Jen spent many happy years with Brad and thinks their divorce was meant to be,” adds the source. Now living in L.A. with actor-writer Theroux, 40, “she is very happy with Justin – and that’s what she is focusing on right now.”

Here are some new pictures of Angelina Jolie in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon, and she waved that ring around like there was no tomorrow!

These pictures almost look staged, don’t they? They’re too….perfect. She looks gorgeous. She’s wearing a grey cotton dress, nude shoes and to go along with her $1,000,000 ring, she’s also carrying a $2000 Yves Saint Laurent Chyc Cabas bag.

People Magazine revealed yesterday that her ring cost over a million dollars, and took fiance Brad Pitt over a year to design. The custom-cut diamonds go all the way around the ring, according to the designer. I think the ring is gorgeous, and looks amazing on her.

Where will the couple tie the knot? According to several sources, Brad and Angelina have been building a reception hall behind their French estate.

Brad is believed to be building a huge reception hall behind a chapel on their £35million estate in the South of France.

Aerial images of the construction site show a large white building being erected next to the quaint chapel which is part of their Provence chateau.

It is believed that builders are working hard to have the venue ready for September.

The couple are also understood to have visited the site to check on progress over the weekend.

They were already in France to attend the Paris premiere of Angelina’s directorial debut In the Land of Blood and Honey on February 16.

The pair purchased the Miraval property but are yet to move in as the sprawling estate has already undergone a series of renovations.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s engagement has prompted People Magazine to release a “Special Engagement” issue. Strange to me, considering so little is known about their engagement. All we really know at this point is they are in fact engaged, and we know who created the ring.

People has gotten a couple more details for their special issue, including how much the stunning diamond ring is worth.

When the time finally came for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to make a promise for their future, Pitt made sure to do it right.

An independent expert tells PEOPLE that the ring could weigh in at more than 10 carats total, with a price tag of $1 million.

Another source says that Brad has been working on this ring for over a year. Apparently the diamonds (which are “ribbed”) go around her entire finger. “The side diamonds are specially cut to encircle her finger. Each diamond is of the highest gem quality. Brad had a specific vision for this ring, which he realized over a yearlong collaboration. He wanted every aspect of it to be perfect, so I was able to locate a diamond of the finest quality and cut it to an exact custom size and shape tosuite Angelina’s hand. Brad was always heavily involved, overseeing every aspect of the creative design evolution. Each diamond is of the highest gem quality.

US Weekly is reporting that Angelina Jolie debuted a new ring on her wedding finger at the Los Angeles County of Museum of Art’s Chinese Galleries on Wednesday. Looks like the actress and her longtime partner, Brad Pitt, are finally and officially engaged!

A rep for jeweler Robert Procop, who has designed pieces for Jolie and Pitt in the past has confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter: “I can confirm that, yes, Robert Procop did indeed design an engagement ring for Angelina Jolie, designed in collaboration with Brad Pitt.”

The actress and In the Land of Blood and Honey director hit the private viewing at LACMA with her beau of seven years and their second-eldest son Pax, 8.

Procop was the creator of “The Style of Jolie” collection with the Oscar-winner, who has worn many of his custom pieces on the red carpet and in her 2010 film The Tourist.

A rep for the couple, who share six kids and have been hinting at potentially making their union official, could not be reached for comment.

I love the fact that they’re officially tying the knot! Love their little family, even if it did start in sin (as my mother would say).

Ellen DeGeneres and Brad Pitt walked through the lower ninth ward in New Orleans last week,  and discussed the progress of “Make It Right”. The event was filmed for a segment on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” which will air this afternoon, Tuesday, March 20th.

Brad on New Orleans and “Make it Right”…

Ellen:  Let me start from the beginning.  Lets start from when you first fell in love with New Orleans.  Where were you?  What year?

Brad: Early 90’s and it was a bit of a blur because New Orleans will do that to you.

Ellen: I don’t remember last night.

Brad: Yeah I understand. I fell in love with the place.  The people. The music. It’s in the air.  It’s something you can’t describe on camera.

Ellen: It’s just got to make you feel so good that you’re doing this and that everybody’s saying, thank you.

Brad: I know but I’m getting far too much credit for this. This took a lot of very smart people coming in and attacking the situation. It took the families determined to come back and their resilience and they’re defining what this thing was going to be. I get far too much credit for bringing some really smart people together.

Brad on having a future architect in the family…

Ellen: Obviously you’re an example for your children. Do you think anyone’s going to end up in design in architecture?

Brad: I think I got one.

Ellen:  Really?

Brad: Yeah.

Ellen: You’ve got to be happy about that.

Brad: Yeah, I’m pushing them that way.

Ellen: That’s like an athlete wanting their kid to be….

Brad: A little bit.  When you see them drawing crayon houses. That’s a beautiful house, honey.  Jut keep pushing them..

Ellen: What if the elevation was like this…
