Raffaello Follieri, the Italian ex-boyfriend of Anne Hathaway, was released Friday morning from a prison in Loretto, 80 miles east of Pittsburgh.

Follieri was put into prison after a controversial real estate scam: Follieri cheated investors by falsely claiming he had Vatican connections, which made possible the buying of church property at a discount. After he pleaded guilty to his crime,  Follieri was sentenced in 2008 to 4 1/2 years in prison,  owing more than $3.6 million to those he ripped off.

Hey,  you need a lot of money to woo an A list celebrity, no?  Hathaway and Follieri dated for four years- but looks like their breakup was for the best.

Anne Hathaway is currently filming ‘Les Miserables’ in London. The actress looks like she’s taking a little break, as she was spotted vacationing in Miami with some friends. According to sources, she was in town to help Valentino celebrate his 80th birthday.

She showed off her smaller body, and much shorter hair while playing at the beach over the weekend.

The actress was asked to shave her head – and lose weight – for her portrayal of Fatine, a dying prostitute, in ‘Les Miserables’. Apparently Anne was asked to lose almost 20 pounds for the movie, to make her character’s death bed scenes “more realistic”. She’s reportedly on a diet of about 500 calories a day, in the hopes that by the end of filming, she’ll go from her size 10 – to a size 6.

A film set source told our mate Clemmie at the Mirror: “Anne is playing a destitute factory worker-come-lady of the night.

“Unfortunately, she only has 15 to 20 days to lose as much weight as possible – up to a stone-and-a-half – because she’s been filming the scenes showing her fit and healthy, almost slightly chubby.

“It’s not ideal but, as with any high-budget movie, there are strict time constraints.

“Producers have assigned her a personal trainer and she is literally eating nothing more than a couple of apples a day, and some protein – mainly in the form of a shake.

“Anne knows the risk of such an extreme diet and will undergo weekly medicals to make sure everything is still functioning as it should do.”

The movie is based on the hit West End musical and also stars hunks Eddie Redmayne (FIT), Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe. The cast began filming early this month.

It’s due to hit cinemas in December, so Anne’ll have time to get her beautiful curves back for the premiere.

I can’t wait to see the movie! I hope it does the play justice!

In a new publicity shot, Anne Hathaway poses as Catwoman for ‘The Dark Knight Rises’.

The 29-year-old actress said she had to “physically transform” for the role of Catwoman. “I had to physically transform.
Chris sat me down at the beginning and said, “Joseph Gordon-Levitt did all of his own fighting in Inception. That one zero-gravity fight? He trained for two months”. I basically left his office and went to the gym and just came out about five minutes ago.”

Speaking on Anne’s character, Nolan said she represents an ‘underlying’ sense of darkness in the film, which is the last he will direct.

He told Entertainment Weekly: “She has a very strong way of protecting herself and those she cares about.”

Anne Hathaway stepped out in London early Sunday morning – sporting a much different ‘do!

The 29-year-old actress was spotted leaving Soho nightclub The Box with fiance Adam Shulman, and Anne tried to cover her head with her hand to hide the short haircut.

Anne cut her hair for her role in the upcoming film adaption of ‘Les Miserables’. Anne plays Fantine, a single mother who sells her hair and turns to prostitution to feed her child.

She stars alongside Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe. (See pictures of Hugh on set here!).

Anne’s rep also revealed last week that she also had to lose weight for the role.

Does Anne Hathaway deal with body image issues? According to US Weekly, Hathaway reveals “When people refer to me as a ‘regular’ girl…it’s code word for ‘fat’ in Hollywood.”

Even though she claims the public isn’t easy on her when it comes to weight, she says “My body has chosen its shape. I’d rather be strong than skinny.”

I’m not even sure where these comments are coming from. I’ve never once heard that she’s “fat” or even slightly heavy. Maybe I’m missing something. She has a great body!

Actress Anne Hathaway recently shared that she feels like she has a lot in common with Lindsay Lohan.

“Lindsay Lohan and I have more in common than people think. We’ve all done things we shouldn’t. It is just that I did stuff at college when nobody knew about it, so I’m not a saint. I wasted time doing self-destructive things.”

“I found you can only dance on so many tabletops. I got all that out of my system and I am healthy and grounded.”

“My mother, Kate McCauley, taught me to be always understanding of other people — and to have a sense of humor about yourself.”

The actress, who is starring in the upcoming Batman flick ‘The Dark Knight Rises‘, says that she’s okay with Hollywood’s perception of her body type:

“I know when people refer to me as a ‘regular’ girl, that it is a code word for ‘fat’ in Hollywood.  It is completely understandable, as a teenager, to fret about your body. It is scary, because you don’t know how it is going to end up. But I am not a teenager any more and my body has chosen its shape.  I would rather be strong than skinny.”

I was loving Anne’s candid interview right up until the weight part.  I’ve seen Anne in person.  She is the teeniest little thing you’ve ever laid eyes on.  I hate when actresses try to talk as if they’re “just like the rest of us”.   I still love her to pieces, but that just rubbed me wrong.

Okay – so she didn’t really put it that way, but wasn’t she the worst Oscar host ever? She was awful!! Here’s more from her interview – with Interview.

In interview Magazine, Anne opens up about the hosting gig:

“You know, it’s not like I’d had this big dream to do this thing, and it’s not like I had a set of skills I’d been honing for years and years that I was going to showcase on this night. To me, it seemed like such a random opportunity, and such potential for fun, that I really was enjoying myself completely. It’s actually been very nice because the critical reaction was what it was, but since then . . . Like, just today, I was sitting, having lunch, and a really nice Canadian couple on vacation with their daughter came up and made a point of saying, “We just loved you at the Oscars.” It’s been so amazing and lovely, the feedback that I’ve been getting even months after the show. But then the other side of it was that I was obviously a little bummed out by the critical response because you work so hard at that. What I never appreciated about any of the hosts was just how much time and work goes into this huge production. Almost immediately afterwards, I went to Africa for the first time with an initiative that I work with called The Girl Effect, and I just realized that all these feelings that I was having, maybe even the negative ones, were a privilege to be had, and that good, bad, middling, whatever the Oscars were . . . I mean, I met a woman on this trip who got married at the age of 5.”

On getting ready for Catwoman:

“I actually had this moment when I convinced one of the assistant directors on the London portion of the film to get a cat with me, the idea being that we were going to get a kitten from a rescue shelter, and he was going to live with me, and I was going to observe it, and when I left London I was going to give it to her. Then, thankfully, her husband pointed out that that was a terrible idea on so many levels, not least of which being that it would probably be really confusing to the cat. So I turned to YouTube instead and got a National Geographic video on cats… I am still cat-less. My man is allergic to cats, so that decision is made for me.”

On being from Jersey:

“I think JWoww is amazing. I love JWoww. She’s intense. See, JWoww to me is proper Jersey because she will scrap for a friend…. My best friend got married this past weekend in Barcelona, and I was one of her bridesmaids. She’s one of my best friends from Jersey, and this guy was messing with her, and I was totally like, “Who am I punching?” She was like, “No one. You’re not going to punch anyone. And I was like, “Fair enough, but if a fight breaks out, who do you want me to swing at?”

“I wanted to be in New York. My feeling about growing up in New Jersey was, “How come I’m not in New York?” That being said, I’m older and I have a better worldview now, and so I think I grew up in an incredibly privileged position. The town I grew up in is beautiful. I got a great education, and I’m very grateful for it. But it’s not a place I wanted to stay. I left when I was 16, just to follow my dreams . . .”
