Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are back in black!

The couple was nearly inseparable at the L.A. premiere of Inglourious Basterds Monday night. Jolie — wearing a form-fitting strapless black leather Michael Kors dress and Dior heels — held on to her beau, who donned an all-black suit, while walking the red carpet outside Grauman’s Chinese Theater.

The Quentin Tarantino-directed Inglourious Basterds hits theaters Aug. 21.

Angelina Jolie has signed on to portray crime novelist Patricia Cornwell’s heroine Dr. Kay Scarpetta in a forthcoming movie from Twentieth Century Fox and its Fox 2000 division. The screenplay will be based on Cornwell’s bestselling Scarpetta series of books, about the beautiful, hard-charging medical examiner who solves crimes, but it will not be focused on any one specific novel. The project has yet to hire a screenwriter or a director. Mark Gordon and Geyer Kosinski will produce.
